Polls are interim votes. Candidates use them to decide which policies to support & how to allocate resources. Calls to ignore polls are misguided. Participate in polls & learn how to assess them. Donโt forgo expressing your opinions or youโll have to live with what others think.
@PpollingNumbers I thought federal budgets were on a 2-year cycle so 2025-2026 should be attributable mostly to the Biden Administration unless something extraordinary happens.
@itsaboutthebaag WWII changed technology, communications, and society in general. Some people didn't adapt well and became ingrained in pre-war bigotry.
Nixon wasn't held accountable for his crimes and was pardoned.
Reagan conspired with Iran to win the election and was made into a cult leader.
@Rebel_girl78@ArtCandee The Committee was investigating Gates to determine if he should be removed from Congress. Only Congress, not any Court, has the responsibility & authority to do so. It appears that he would have been removed, & prevented from joining in the new session, which is why he resigned.
@woofknight Whenever I watch a football game now, I see a stadium 1/3 full of non-voters, 1/3 full of bigots, and 1/3 full of voters who are angry and depressed about the 2024 election results. I can't just enjoy sports anymore.
@cubedreamer Imagine what it will be like a few generations from now when old folks who lived through the 2010s-2020s as young adults describe what really happened.
@Mollyploofkins It needs to be a carefully crafted blanket pardon without specific names attached. Otherwise it could be used to sully the reputations of outstanding public servants.
The kind of pardon that tells DOJ โYou canโt even go there.โ
@rpwpb@Mollyploofkins Like Carter's blanket pardon of those who fled the draft. That would be an awesome way to protect large groups of people that Trump plans to prosecute. Biden would have immunity, too.
@kgiselle653 Not that it would present much of an obstacle, but they'll have to have Congress get rid of the Telework Act of 2010 first. Without it, there would be no remote work for federal employees.
@RepRibble@ronsterd89 You either don't understand or are equivocating. The definition of entitlement related to SS is that the government is required to pay the benefits. That is what Congress, SSA, and the law mean. They don't mean that people are entitled. Equivocation causes these arguments.
@RepRibble@ronsterd89 To paraphrase, "you qualify for benefits by fulfilling the requirements of the entitlement program," not limited to just OASDI and age. Once you pay OASDI taxes, the funds are no longer yours any more than income taxes are.
@sean_miller13@ronsterd89 "Entitlement Programs of the federal government include Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, Unemployment Insurance, and welfare programs."
