@BCooper147 , hi! I recently finished Deep Pockets and wanted to get in touch to talk about it with you if I could? Any contact details you wouldn't mind passing on to me in a DM?
Gonna start posting me substacks here for my many followers.
Today I wrote on Raising the Colours, the 'grassroots' flagraising movement which has some friends in very high places.

@HarrysunSee@TheLondonMag Great stuff @HarrysunSee - shameless plug but I feel I had a similar take as you which I wrote about on my substack.. Solidarity in a lonely world of Orbital lovers <3 https://t.co/Tm0GbMMvq2
Better late than never, I've completed my first digital map covering data from the Medical History of British India archive. Excited to move on to formulating my own research question!

The cool thing about our project on the Medical History of British India is how it joins historical specifics (like Lock Hospitals) to debates concerning diseases still around today. Of interest to historians and futurists alike!

@Kaylalyak826@tressiemcphd Hard agree from me on this - it's crazy how the categories of scale we tend to fall into thinking about are given to us from on high. A great example of how effective considering things from a DH POV can be .

@weebugsy@Ted_Underwood It's an interesting one ! I definitely agree it helps to break down boundaries between disciplines (and love the Piketty quote lol) but I wonder what effect it could have purely within literary studies? It would be powerful to combine close and distant reading...

Common theme throughout @laurenfklein and @mkgold's 'Text Analysis at Scale' Forum: no matter how techy it gets, whatever the methodology, DH is humanities, and is thus concerned with rhetoric, interpretation and ambiguity as opposed to the interests of data as 'truth'.

Gary Hall (@[email protected] on Mastodon) asks some great questions about the conflict between DH and Critical Theory, and how it could be resolved. Super helpful for either sides of the debate to treat their opponents more productively.

*free* it has to be free! Completely pointless if they don’t have the funds to pay for it. Ravenscourt Park Astro is such a focal point for young people in the community. Replicate.
