You have artists come to your countries for the first time, to perform at one of the biggest festivals and also a festival that’s entirely their own that no one else has seen before and they’re so proud of, and fans decide to just throw all respect out the window huh? I know it’s not all fans, there were thousands of people in attendance who acted perfectly respectful.

But we’ve had people groping the members, trying to take their clothes off, pulling their in-ears out, pushing them till they trip, drenching them in buckets of water, throwing trash/food scraps on stage/at them, sexually harassing them and then coming online and saying “they wanted it,” yanking their arms forcefully, stalking them to and from schedules.

Not to mention the entire mess that was the restaurant and its shameful actions by the venue staff during their private schedule. What with their reservation being leaked, their attendance non-consensually filmed, their leftovers allowed to be photographed and eaten and their used cutlery given away to “fans.” And now instead of issuing an apology their only defence is “it was a mistake shared while we were excited.”

And on top of all of this, instead of global fans coming to an an understanding that a few people have shameful behaviours and that those are the people who should be reprimanded, fans are now using this all as an opportunity to push racist and xenophobic ideals, even going so far as to twist the words of the members themselves to fit their agenda.

It’s repeated disrespectful, shameful and intrusive behaviour from fans like that which makes artists stop coming back to places. I feel so sorry for all of the fans that acted appropriately and now have to deal with the image that a few horrible people have painted onto their community and country.

스트레이 키즈 멤버들이 아르헨티나에서 저녁 먹었던 식당 건, 이건 진짜 말 안 가리고 말할게.

그냥 너무 역겨워.

나 예전에 교토에 있을 때 초밥 가격이 시가로 나오는 스시집에서 일한 적이 있는데, 유명인들도 정말 많이 왔었어. 근데 예약이 잡혀 있다는 걸 알고 있어도 친한 친구가 물어본다고 말해줄 리가 없고, 애초에 그걸 밖에다 말해야겠다는 생각 자체가 안 들어.

이번에 얘기 나오는 것처럼 정말로 프라이빗한 예약 정보를 일부 사람들한테 흘린 거라면, 가게가 찾아오는 손님의 정보를 외부에 흘린다는 것 자체가 말이 안 된다고 생각해.

먹다 남긴 음식도 그걸 주문한 사람이랑 아무 상관없는 다른 사람한테 줄 일이 없고, 손님이 쓰던 물건을 가져가게 하는 것도 위생적으로나 도덕적으로나 가게 측이 해도 되는 일이 아니야. 반대로 손님이 “갖고 싶다”고 부탁한다고 해도 가져가게 해줄 리가 없고.
물론 난 그런 걸 달라고 하는 손님 자체를 본 적도 없지만.

우연히 식당에 와 있던 손님의 일행 중에 그 유명인의 팬이 있어서 뭔가 부탁을 한다고 해도, 그 사람이 개인적으로 예약해서 온 이상 사진 촬영도 사인도 거절하는 게 당연하다고 생각했어.

아니 근데 애초에 멤버들이 먹다 남긴 음식이나 쓰던 젓가락 같은 걸 갖고 싶어 하는 감각 자체도 난 이해가 안 돼. 실제로 그걸 받아 간 사람이 있다면 준 쪽뿐만 아니라 받은 쪽도 솔직히 너무 별로야.

이번 일에서 제일 이해가 안 되는 건 이런 걸 “해볼까”라는 생각 자체를 했다는 거야.
보통은 애초에 그런 짓을 해보자는 생각까지 가지도 않는다고 생각해.

About the restaurant where the Stray Kids members had dinner in Argentina, I’m just going to say this without sugarcoating it.

It’s honestly just disgusting.

I used to work at a sushi restaurant in Kyoto where the prices were market price, and we had a lot of celebrities come in. But even if I knew someone had a reservation, there was no way I’d tell anyone, even if a close friend asked me. It honestly wouldn’t even occur to me to share that kind of information in the first place.

If what people are saying is true and the restaurant really did leak details about a private reservation to certain people, I think a restaurant giving out information about a customer who’s coming in is completely unacceptable in itself.

We would never give someone else food that a customer had left behind, and letting people take home things that another customer had already used is something a restaurant should never be doing, both from a hygiene standpoint and a basic ethical standpoint. Even if someone asked, “Can I have that?”, there’s no way we would let them take it.
Not that I’ve ever even seen a customer ask for something like that.

Even if another customer happened to be there with someone who was a fan of that celebrity and they asked for something, if the celebrity had made a private reservation, we would turn down requests for photos or autographs. I always thought that was just common sense.

And honestly, I don’t understand the mindset of even wanting food the members left behind or chopsticks they used in the first place. If someone actually accepted those things, I’m not only put off by the people who handed them over, but by the people who took them too.

What I understand the least about this whole situation is the fact that anyone even had the idea to do something like this.
Normally, I don’t think the thought of doing something like that would even cross your mind.
