Such a powerful quote here. The reality is people wonāt find fault in those who rest in the land of mediocrity. The people who endure the most criticism are highly motivated. As long as you are standing still, no one will complain.
Whether you are a teacher or in an administrative roleā¦
š¹Donāt stand still.
šŗTake the leap.
š¹Try new things.
šŗAnd always do whatās best for kids, even when itās hard.
Will you be criticized by some? Yes.
But is this leadership? Absolutely yes.
Rememberā¦
Dogs donāt bark at parked carsā¦
ā¦They bark at the cars who are moving.
Keep moving forward and keep doing whatās best for kids.
This is leadership.
Every one of us has something heavy weāre carrying as we walk through our day. And remembering that others have burdens of their own will help us choose to be a little kinder to one another.
Today, we can choose to let compassion rise, grace soften and love lead.
Tonight, letās decide to actually pray about the things weāve only been thinking about. The things weāve been worried about.
Because worrying never changes things. Prayer does.
Itās about that time, yāall.
CLASS LISTS.
Administrators across the country are meticulously finalizing class lists, and teachers are anxiously waiting to see which kids will become their new babies for 180 school days.
Itās also that time of year where the chatter startsā¦
ā¦about THAT kid.
The one who has a reputation for being ālowā.
The one who ācanāt behave.ā
The one who is ālazyā.
The one who _______.
Donāt be the teacher who judges a child based on another person's opinion.
š¹Every kid deserves a reset.
šŗEvery kid deserves more chances.
š¹Every kid deserves a champion.
Many kids are on the road to failure because of reasons beyond their control. Be the person who redirects their path this year.
Be their merchant of hope! People donāt need us to be merchants of hope during the easy times. It is in the darkest moments that they need their merchant of hope to selflessly carry them through the storm.
We chose the profession where we are helping raise other peopleās kids. As you receive your class lists over the next few days, receive them with love, clean slates, and lots of grace.
The reality? We are all doing this really hard thing called ālifeā in the best and only way we know how.
Never judge a child based on another personās opinion.
And while weāre at it, letās replace "child" with "person" (friend, colleague, parent, acquaintance, stranger).
Patient. Loving. Understanding. Forgiving. Grace giving.
These are the attributes of a person who can reach another person's heart and change their pathway. I have so much work to do on myself so that I can better help others. I'm especially thankful for grace.

All these years in and Iām still taken aback by how much difference prayer makes. I can think to myself upon waking, āI donāt have what it takes today,ā then drag myself to the place God and I meet in the mornings, open my Bible & itās as if he says, āI have what it takes. Here.ā
As we approach the end of the school yearā¦
š„ Be patient
ā¦because letās be real. We tired!
š„Celebrate teacher growth
ā¦goodness they have worked hard.
š„Celebrate student growth
ā¦they need reminding of how far theyāve come!
š„Be patient
ā¦did I mention we are tired?
š„Make IEP mtgs meaningful
ā¦these parents deserve it.
š„Give yourself grace
ā¦lots of it. Take care of you.
Schools make the world go round. In this busy season, pause and reflect on how far youāve carried this generation of kids.
Educators are amazing!
