Cultivated and #forest land decreased, while construction land expanded at tourism zone of China’s Southern Anhui Province during 2000—2023. The overall level of #land use conflict decreased, and spatial differentiation intensified. Coordination of #ecological protection and intensive land use across the entire region is necessary to stimulate the high-quality development.🧐

The overall green transition of #farmland use and whole green factor productivity of grain were in a highly coupled stage in China's Tarim River #basin during 2000—2021. But their coordination level was generally low. Spatially adaptive governance strategies should be implemented to promote technological innovation, and therefore to harmonize food output with #environmental health.😀

The #ecological environment quality of China’s Mu Us sandy land changed unevenly from 2000 to 2023: deteriorating at smaller part, and improving in the larger part. The evolution pattern was mainly driven by both #climate change and human activities. Regional ecological restoration policies should be formulated considering the comprehensive factors.🧐

Pakistan’s #flood events kept increasing from 1985 to 2021, with distribution orientation. Flood events surged during 2005—2010, and the disaster centroid shifted from the southwest to the northeast. The flood occurrences are mainly resulted by extreme rain, and their spatial heterogeneity critically shaped by the interaction of topographic and precipitation-related factors.🧐

160 policies regarding saline-alkali land management issued during 1986—2025, by administrative department of China’s Xinjiang Wei Autonomous Region, could be divided into three stages, focusing respectively on #soil repair, farmland quality and eco-#environment, and high-standard #farmland. The balance between #ecological protection and land management must be concerned across policy formulation.🧐

When is the critical stage to start irrigating corn?
Water needs and sensitivity are rather low during vegetative stages, but increase as tasseling nears. Thus, we should shift our irrigation approach when corn is about 7ft or 7 to 10 days from tassel.
Soil moisture is key. 🌽
An investigation in 2023 found the overall performance of ecological compensation policy implementation and #ecological outcome in Sanjiangyuan National Park were both relatively good, but still with certain differences between counties. Future improving policies should ultimately enhancing the public value of ecological protection and the wellbeing of local herders.🧐

#Ecosystem service value of Sanjiangyuan region hits 246.485 billion yuan in 2003, with water conservation service value as the top prize. Coordinated governance policies and scientifically #land use plan should be constructed for different river #basins to effectively reserve #ecological asset and maintain ecological security in such a so-called China's water tower region.🧐

#Land use changes in China’s New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor region from 2002 to 2022 were stable at a medium level, resulting from the spatial interplay between natural constraints and strategic development. Future spatial governance should strengthen the coordination between corridor and hinterland, especially choice eco-priority scenario.🧐

The total content of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in surface sediments shows a clear increasing gradient along the upper(A), middle(B) and lower(C) reaches at a typical coastal urban small watershed in China’s Xiamen City, keeping up with the increasing trend of human activity intensity. The differences of specific sites and PAH compounds should be major concerns in protecting coastal water #ecosystems.🧐

#Forest#carbon sinks of China’s Inner Mongolia surged significantly during 2009—2023, Meanwhile, forest carbon sink value showed an overall upward trend with significant regional differentiation. At Heilongshan #forest farm in Hebei Province of China, forest #ecosystem holds two-thirds of the total carbon storage in its #soil. Meanwhile, arbor forests obtain nearly one-third of them in view of vegetation types. Protecting and improving soil and forest quality, preventing fires, and controlling pests and diseases etc. are effective ways for boosting #carbon storage.🧐

The decomposition rates of litters in permafrost region of the Great Xing’an mountains may be attributed to its N content and C/N ratio. Broadleaf litters require slightly over two decades for complete decomposition. Needleleaf litters and mixed litters of broadleaf and needleleaf require nearly double of that periods. This slow process is critical for maintaining C-N balance in cold-region ecosystem.🧐

Different human disturbances showed significantly different effects on soil physicochemical properties and plant biomass under investigations at Xilamuren grassland of China’s Inner Mongolia.
