@billythomas95 We’re getting away from the main point of the OP. No, I’m sure they’re not going 100%. But they’re still obviously competing and if we “couldn’t hang” with them, even in a friendly, there would be a noticeable difference in quality.
@Willzoid13@OverEHill Yeah I’d never argue against that. Many of England’s players that didn’t even make the team would start for us. But that wasn’t the question the OP originally asked. There’s obviously a massive talent gap compared to other countries.
@sidawood@OverEHill Moving the goal posts. If we couldn’t “hang” with Senegal, they’d dismantle us in a friendly. We both know teams were going hard in the warm up games leading up to the WC. It’s also a good thing the game isn’t decided on individual talent. It just doesn’t support your narrative.
@GroggyGunner@OverEHill I think this is one of the more level headed responses. Many teams can be competitive or “hang with” other teams. Different story to actually beating them. But I agree, don’t see us being good enough to win a QF, but I’d take a QF all day.
🚨 EXCL: Tottenham Hotspur reach agreement with Brighton & Hove Albion to sign Jan Paul van Hecke. Deal for 26yo #Netherlands int’l worth £52m fixed, no add-ons. Luka Vuskovic situation separate; 2nd #BHAFC offer worth £35m rejected by #THFC@TheAthleticFC https://t.co/1D4yy6dJp3
@CBTsportsfan@AliceClimbers lol when do international fans ever claim that? And 2nd, why do you care so much? I grew up in NY going to Yankee games, but wouldn’t care if someone thought they had just as deep a connection to the Yankees as me. It’s just their opinion. Doesn’t affect me at all.
@jason_isaia@SebOnFootball none of these pre-WC friendlies are being played on the WC pitches. I know those look poor, but FIFA tested the pitches being used for WC games. They should be good!
