At some point, baseball has to get back to valuing ballplayers and not just numbers on a screen. Give me the Freddie Freemans, the Buster Poseys, Hunter Pences, Pablo Sandovals, Michael Youngs, Ian Kinslers of the world. Guys who just flat out know how to play the game. Everyone wants to talk launch angle and exit velo, but what happened to valuing a quality at bat?” The 9-pitch battle that might end in an out, but forces a pitcher to show everything he’s got.
The guy who hits behind the runner, takes what’s given, or just refuses to give a pitcher an easy inning. Those at-bats might not look sexy in the box score, but they show up in the 7th, 8th, and 9th. Some of these dudes could absolutely leave the yard too. That’s the point. They weren’t one-dimensional. Somewhere along the way, we confused measurable tools with knowing how to win baseball games.
I’m not against analytics or hitting the ball hard, but there is an art to winning that you can’t fully measure. We need more guys who know how to play baseball, not just hitters, not just athletes, ballplayers. And I promise you, those dudes never go out of style
Nebraska volleyball stars Andi Jackson, Harper Murray and Bergen Reilly will be on set and part of show during “Big Noon Kickoff” on Saturday in Lincoln.
The day marks Fox’s first-ever national broadcast doubleheader of college football and volleyball from the same campus.
15 years ago today, #14 Nebraska erased a 21-point deficit (trailing 27–6 in the third quarter) by scoring 28 unanswered points to beat Ohio State 34 to 27.
It’s always crazy to me how a .45 cent per gallon gas increase can cost a political party control of Congress, but an additional $1500 dollars in public school property taxes isn’t enough to get people to question their school boards.
Since the FBS/FCS split (1978), there have been 5,731 FBS teams
Only 2 have won EVERY game by 14+ points:

The AP Poll was the standard for decades, but a subset of the voters turning their ballots into clickbait articles has rendered it functionally useless.
This guy jumped Mississippi State UP eight spots after a 33-point home loss.
It's time to start pulling votes from people.
BREAKING 🚨: HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.: “I know you're flustered now, and it is…”
CNN’s Dana Bash: “I'm not flustered at all.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr.: “Do you see your job as ending vaccine hesitancy, or do you see your job as telling the truth to the American people?”
Dana Bash: “I see my job as telling the truth. And the truth is that there is study after study after study. It's one of the most studied things out there in science.”
Robert F. Kennedy Jr.: “You're repeating it like a parrot. You're repeating it like a parrot.”
“I have actually read the science.”
“Let's you and I come back here and debate the science.”
Dana Bash: “I'm not debating this with you.”
Robert F. Kennedy: “Of course you won't. All you know how to do is repeat things that people told you and say, trust the experts.”
“That's what you did during COVID. Now we know that Anthony Fauci, who was the expert, was lying about everything, about masks, about the social distancing, about natural immunity, about the transmission from the vaccine, about the source of COVID.”
“[Fauci] was lying, and you were punishing people for not trusting the experts. And now you're rolling out the experts again to talk about something that you have no personal knowledge of.”
“Your job is to tell the truth to the American public.”
Moment of the game in Nebraska’s 31-13 win over Michigan State?
North Platte native Vincent Genatone makes his first career catch, and it’s a touchdown. Runs to the sideline to celebrate and check out this reaction from his teammates.
