🚨 🗣️ Breaking: Ainsley Maitland-Niles on why he refused to take the knee before Everton vs Chelsea:
“Honestly, I feel like these gestures have become formalities. We take the knee before matches, cameras capture the moment, and everyone moves on. But what actually changes?
“I have experienced racism throughout my career, from my time at Arsenal to Lyon and now back at Everton. Yet I rarely see meaningful consequences for those responsible. How many more Black players must suffer before real action is taken?
“Behind every racist insult is a human being being humiliated for the colour of their skin. Imagine giving everything to football, entertaining millions, only to be reminded that some people still believe you are worth less because you are Black.
“I am tired of seeing beautiful messages against racism followed by the same ugly reality. Taking the knee means nothing if the people responsible face no consequences.
“I don’t want another photograph of players taking the knee. I want to see real punishment, real accountability and real change. Black players deserve to feel protected, respected and safe, not just for the 60 seconds before kick-off, but every single day.

@bahsaul661@TheAnfieldWrap Keep playing Frimpong there. I know that's not the most popular opinion. But keep Szbo higher up the pitch. Iraola turned Alex Scott into a unreal player that could cost a team 80m what do you think he could do for Szbo. Give the man time
@Txbylfc I love this mate. I do think though if Szbo plays RM that would allow Frimpong to keep bombing up and down the wing. Cos his stamina is a joke
@chomakovg I am so glad I am starting to see more people react this way on here. I get people are annoyed, but its just over analysed to the point people will wind themselves up.
@DaveOCKOP Normally I agree with you. But I think today the boys showed they aren't too far off it. Marqinos (definitely spelt that wrong lol) made an unreal block. And even though the penalty was soft it was still a penalty. And there was more chances. So I think they showed their level
@LFCLaurie Yes and no haha. The performance after going 1-0 against Newcastle was the best all season and I feel like every performance has had small improvements recently. But we have had no consistency this season
@Mj1Maestro@lwhite434@LFCTransferRoom@footitalia1 Klopp has gone on record to say that he regrets not starting Harvey more. And I'm not saying he's world class and should start over Wirtz. I just think he could have helped the squad this season.
@lwhite434@LFCTransferRoom@footitalia1 Good point mate. But I think you're forgetting that Harvey Elliott is a top level footballer that could contribute to a team that is lacking squad depth.
