🇮🇹🗞️| Spettacolo TG24 - #CanYaman will receive the Golden Column at the Magna Graecia Film Festival.
The Turkish star will be a guest at the end of July at the Soverato event that will give him the highest recognition for his contribution to the international TV industry. The prize comes after the Silver Ribbon Grandi Série for "#Sandokan".
Can Yaman will be the protagonist of the Magna Graecia Film Festival whose next edition is scheduled in Soverato from July 25 to August 1.
The Turkish actor, international star of some of the major European television productions of recent seasons, will receive the Golden Column as part of the 23rd edition of the event, a recognition that celebrates his contribution to the film industry.
Yaman will be one of the leading guests of the event designed by the brothers Alessandro and Gianvito Casadonte who devotes great attention to the first and second works and documentaries of emerging authors.
YAMAN, THE SEASON OF AWARDS AFTER SANDOKAN
More than six months after the airing of Sandokan, the television series in which he took the role of the Tiger of Malaysia, continues the successful season of Can Yaman, an already very popular star, which has become even more loved and appreciated after the Lux Vide show.
During the working breaks of his next projects, Yaman is attending various events in which he is always among the winners.
At the end of July the thirty-six-year-old will be in Calabria, the region where part of the Malaysian setting of Sandokan was rebuilt, to receive the Golden Column.
For Alessandro Casadonte, co-founder of the Festival, "Can Yaman is a symbol of modernity and freshness in the film scene. His presence enriches our festival.", declared in a note in which he comments on the award.
THE CAREER AND TELEVISION SUCCESSES OF THE LAST SEASONS
Can Yaman was among the winners of the Taormina Film Festival, which ended a few days ago, a festival that awarded him the Icon Award, an award given to the personality that stood out in international audiovisual production last season.
In Naples, however, on the first weekend of June, the actor withdrew the Silver Ribbon Big Series in the Best International Protagonist category (ALL AWARDS).
Sandokan, whose production is underway with filming postponed to 2027, has certainly marked an important professional milestone for Yaman as well as a new beginning with a different momentum for the actor's career that began in 2014, with the first successes coming about ten years ago.
It was the television products that launched the career of the actor who became known as an interpreter of Turkish serial productions that had European and international diffusion.
Among the most popular titles of this period are Bitter Sweet - Ingredients of love, DayDreamer - The wings of the dream and Mr. Wrong - Lessons of love.
In Italy he worked on Viola come il mare, alongside Francesca Chillemi and then on the miniseries IL Turco, broadcast in 2025.
Also in 2025, Sandokan was broadcast, the show that gave him the opportunity to act as one of the most iconic characters in adventure literature.

🇮🇹 🗞️ | After #Sandokan#CanYaman is a clumsy lawyer: all about #Bro, the new comedy series of the Turkish actor.
Can is in the midst of his artistic revolution: after the success of the fiction Rai he returned to Italy to shoot a series in which he plays a character with a high rate of self-irony.
Article - Part 1
In Naples he withdrew the Nastro D'Argento Grandi Serie 2026 as the international protagonist for the #Sandokan series, the pearl of the Rai schedules last fall. Leaving the Neapolitan city he flew to Sicily to receive the Taormina Film Festival Icon Award. From July 3 to 11 he will also be at the Italian Global Series 2026 in Rimini and Riccione to present one of his new works, the Spanish series Il laberinto delle farfalle, which sees him on a special mission as a very human secret agent. In Taormina, raising to heaven one of the many awards received in the last year for his work, the Turkish actor Can Yaman crystalised his triumph in a single gesture: that of an artist who made a bet on himself, risking a well-started career in the world of seriality made in Turkey, to become a reference point for the small and big screen with roles much more varied than romantic and often rarefied ones interpreted in the dizi, thanks to which he became famous in Italy.
Today Can Yaman wants to be something different, not only in our country where everyone loves him since the days of DayDreamer but throughout Europe. Maybe, in the whole world.
His next challenge is called Bro: the title is provisional, but there are now few doubts about the plot. Produced by Lux Vide, it is the project that brought Can Yaman back to Italy after the Spanish parenthesis and after the splendour of Sandokan, an international co-production that will soon see him return to the set for the second season.
Can Yaman on the new series Bro: "I wanted to surprise people: after Sandokan I said goodbye to the role of cool hero".
Already at Sanremo 2026, co-host of the prime time together with Carlo Conti, Can Yaman had told the journalists of the press room that he was very proud of the course taken by his work after the convincing test in the Rai fiction that retraced, almost 50 years after the drama with the original Sandokan Kabir Bedi, the adventures of the Tiger of Malaysia. After shooting the series The Butterfly Labyrinth in Spain in which he plays a secret agent-gentleman. As he told Adnkronos "at first I was a pure James Bond species, then with the various drafts they started to soften everything. He has become a very human Bond, who sacrifices himself for women." The butterfly maze, which will be presented in Rimini and Riccione in July, according to its protagonist is "a romantic, complete thriller: there is action but also tenderness. It suits me so much."
But it is with Bro, the title for the temporary moment of a series that will presumably be streaming on Prime Video in 2027, that Can Yaman has decided to throw his heart over the obstacle. The actor said he accepted the role because he was very distant from those his fans are used to. And in fact in Bro he plays a brilliant lawyer but "devoid of social talents". Yaman, he explained in Taormina talking about this project signed by director Riccardo Donna, was focussing on a brilliant role, with comic traits. "I didn't want to make a hero anymore, a cool one after Sandokan: I wanted to surprise people. I also wanted to try something I had never done, a comedy". Yaman said that his desire was to "self-destruct" or, at least, destroy the granitic idea that a large slice of the public has of him: that of the handsome and romantic hero irretrievably linked to his bursting physicality.

What is Bro about, #CanYaman's new series
And so, precisely to break this chain (which Sandokan, "the coolest of all", has in fact reinformised) that Can Yaman chose to add Bro to his resume. The series, according to its protagonist, "is about a lawyer, a lawyer who is brilliant with the law, but a little clumsy in social relations. To build the character I recovered a part of my childhood, when I was not very sociable and studied a lot. I will take out that phase of my life to better interpret it. Let's hope everything goes well." The project is conceived by Giovanni Nasta, actor and screenwriter with whom Can Yaman has already worked on the set of the Mediaset series Viola come il mare, from which he then moved away to pursue new projects.
His references, he added, are Massimo Troisi and Roberto Benigni, heroes of Italian comedy. While there is still time to play the villain in a movie or series: "I will be the villain when people are ready to distinguish the actor from the character. It's not so much whether or not I'm capable of doing it. I could do anything: it's a matter of timing and career management. It's a chess game, every move has to come at the right time". In terms of strategy, Can Yaman seems to play a game like a true master: he has risked his place in the world of seriality by questioning his position as a romantic hero ad honorem of the dizi to embrace projects in foreign languages (English, Italian and then Spanish) and wear clothes that no one, at the time of DayDreamer, would have dared to sew on him. If it is a challenge won it is too early to say, the accounts with success will have to be done in a few years. But we can't help but attribute a great artistic courage to #CanYaman: without ever denying the Turkish TV series that launched him on the international scene, he has always been able to sew on new clothes. A side of him that the public loves. And in fact the Turkish actor's fandom is stronger (and more passionate) than ever.

From the prestige of the red carpet to the spontaneity of a closed-door meeting.
At the Taormina Film Festival, #CanYaman further cemented his status as an icon of contemporary cinema, accepting the prestigious Taormina Film Festival Icon Award on the stage of the Ancient Theatre.
This honorable recognition came at a golden moment, as the actor prepares to captivate audiences with his upcoming international projects, including the highly anticipated thriller series The Butterfly Labyrinth, due out in 2026, and the announcement of his upcoming, highly anticipated filming commitments.
If the flashes of the photojournalists celebrated the star, and the face to face with the biting irony of Pio and Amedeo showed his irresistible ability to play the game,
Can Yaman's real surprise comes far from the hype. It's in private moments, behind the scenes, that the man behind the character emerges. Seeing him welcome a young fan with complete serenity and offer a friendly greeting to a girl on the other end of his phone reveals the rarest quality in an international star: genuine generosity.
Between critics' awards and the overwhelming warmth of Taormina, his greatest victory remains his ability to remain extraordinarily true.
