Rebranding ist just another word for obfuscation, remapping and relinking.
It is about division.

Dogshit doesn't become sugarcane, just because you change the name and vice versa.

It is the same pattern as with changing p2p-e-cash into p2miner2p-digital-gold.

There are mappings/links between words and their definitions.
Changing those mappings/links has certain consequences.
Reminds me of the remapping from p2p-e-cash to p2miner2p-digital-hodlgold.
