Wildfires took over the state of Oklahoma Friday. In Mannford, an all too familiar terror after the town burnt in 2012 from similar fires. Residents were asked to evacuate. As the sun comes up today, we’ll get a better picture of the full extend of the damage. #okwx#mannfordok

This is not what happened. ONE board member said he was concerned about Walters immigration-related proposals and requested they table items until they receive more guidance. Walters also did not have this attitude to their faces, but no problem spouting this out at his desk.
Andrew was taken into custody and booked into the Muskogee County Jail. His bond was set at $50,000 at the recommendation of the state. The little girl has been removed from the home.
Andrew and Kaytlin Fultz appeared before a judge in Muskogee County District Court today. They are the foster parents accused of leaving a 7 year old girl, in their care, outside in nothing but pajamas in frigid temperatures. This is them being ushered into the courtroom.
Kaytlin is a Cherokee Nation citizen, so her charges were dismissed based on a lack of jurisdiction. Because the reported crimes happened on Muskogee Creek Nation reservation, the Cherokee Nation tells me it is up to the Muskogee DA to prosecute her.
At today’s OSDE meeting, @RyanWaltersSupt is asking the board to approve an addition $3 million to provide bibles to Oklahoma classrooms. That would make a total of $6 million dollars that the OSDE investing in bibles in schools across the state.
Budget needs to be approved Oct. 1, board member Sarah Lepak raises concerns about bibles funding. She asks for more of an explanation about why it’s a part of their budget, and clarification on the process. Walters says it’s just to have bibles there, no commentary included.
In addition to the $3 million bible funding, Walters asks for $500,000 for training school personnel to carry a concealed firearm. Walters says if more districts want to take part in this program, OSDE will cover it.
