While native New Yorkers are being driven out of their own city because they can no longer afford the rent, immigrants who showed up not that long ago are somehow winning affordable-housing lotteries and walking into apartments at rents well below the actual market rate.

NYC residents are supposed to get general preference over other applicants, yet the system is now bending over backward to cater to transplants, immigrants, and illegal immigrants. All thanks to Democratic leadership.

Meanwhile, low-income New Yorkers are stuck living in NYCHA buildings with mold, rats, and cockroach infestations in their apartments.

The Art of Play store has a singing bird automaton they call Molly attached to the wall in their store. They use it in a magic show they perform in the store. There is a price tag on the wall next to the bird suggesting you can buy it for $15,000. The store says the bird is not for sale, however.

Kelly Clarkson went into the store and asked to buy the bird, and the salesman told her that he could get her something “comparable” to the automaton attached to the wall.

What almost certainly happened is that the fixture in the store is not for sale, and the price tag next to it is the price to order a singing bird from the artist who created it.

This is likely what the employee was attempting to convey to Clarkson — that they’re not going to chisel Molly off the wall, but that she could get a comparable work by the artist.

I don’t think she comes off of this exchange looking good.
