Okay let’s talk about Xavier’s constellation imagery, that it was never just aesthetic decoration. The game quietly told us exactly what we were looking at a long time ago through that XavMC stargazing conversation, and now seeing the markings running down his back makes the symbolism hit ten times harder😣

When MC points out “a constellation with a cross-shaped trail,” Xavier identifies it as Cygnus. Cygnus is not just any constellation. It contains the famous Northern Cross, a massive cross-shaped star pattern stretching across the sky. Suddenly the vertical constellation trail along Xavier’s spine no longer feels random(?) it mirrors the elongated celestial structure of Cygnus itself, almost like his body has become a living star map.

Xavier also mentions Altair, part of Aquila and one point of the Summer Triangle. The Summer Triangle is formed by three major stars: Altair in Aquila, Deneb in Cygnus and Vega in Lyra.

Astronomically, they are some of the brightest stars of summer. But mythologically, especially in East Asian star lore, Altair and Vega represent separated lovers divided by the celestial river of the Milky Way, only able to reunite once a year🥲 And Cygnus (the very constellation Xavier highlights) is often interpreted as part of the heavenly bridge or pathway connecting them.

That is what makes this feel so deep. Because Xavier’s entire existence revolves around distance. Distance through time, worlds, loops, realities that continuously try to separate him from MC. He is constantly navigating impossible space just to return to her again and again. The constellation symbolism reflects that perfectly😭

Even the placement matters. The constellation line follows the center of his back like a fate-thread or cosmic scar, as though the journey itself has been carved into him.
