BREAKING: An important win for Israel and a devastating blow to those accusing the Jewish state of “genocide” at The Hague, where the International Court of Justice has refrained from ordering Israel to stop its military campaign against Hamas in Gaza, urging it only to take measures to avoid civilian casualties (as it already does) and ease humanitarian conditions.
At this time of Holocaust Memorial Day, I believe that the misappropriation of the word ‘genocide’ is a moral inversion, which undermines the memory of the worst crimes in human history.

@BBCNewsnight But Reynolds didn’t explain how to stop the boats. Processing more quickly won’t stop the boats, it might even incentivise more people to use the boats
@jeremycorbyn But isn’t every death the result of the actions of Hamas on the weekend. If they had not attacked then there would be no need for retaliation. There were no rockets and no death until the attack on Israel, Hamas have Israeli and Palestinian blood on their hands.
But isn’t the reason why people in Gaza are dying today is because of the attack on Israel last weekend. If that hadn’t happened then there would be no deaths. Don’t Hamas have the blood of Israelis and Palestinians on their hands
Today, I'm thinking of all those in Israel and Palestine suffering unimaginable pain, trauma and fear.
The horrific attacks on civilians in Israel were deplorable. This cannot justify the indiscriminate killing of Palestinians, who are paying the price for a crime they did not commit.
Half of Gaza’s population are children. Trapped in an open-air prison without food, water, gas or electricity, they are watching their homes turn to rubble with nowhere to go.
We should condemn the use of violence against all civilians, Israeli and Palestinian. And we must renew our calls for an immediate ceasefire to prevent any further loss of life.
In times of war, we need more voices for peace — and the only way to achieve peace is to end the occupation.
I am pleased that Boris has resigned. He has too many flaws, both as to his intellect and character and his dishonesty undermines the Nation. However, I will never forget and be forever grateful for saving us from an antisemitic, pro Russian Prime Minister.
I’ve been interested in politics for 40plus years. Thinking of all the disreputable hypocrites who have sat in Parliament. Is there anyone as dishonourable as Matt Hancock. Not only does he ignore social distancing but he gives a job, paid for by taxpayer, to for his mistress
Although the Govt are right to be cautious, the policy they adopted based on the science seems to be working. More patients left hospital than were admitted and the number of daily deaths is falling. Maybe one day the news journos will express some positivity.
@Lwantsahusky Burhon’s candidature becomes more bazaar by the day. He can’t seriously believe what he is saying. There’s deluded and there’s stark staring mad
@carlgardner Mary Creagh and others did nothing because they were worried about losing their jobs and status. Only brave MPs such as @IvanLewis or @MikeGapes had the courage of their convictions. They were right all along
