@Edumooney @shirky17 Looking at this https://t.co/hyZbPD53J3 you might be risking damage to the microbit by supplying the 6V to the 3V connector. I think maybe try either better batteries (get a solid 3V+) or power via USB to get 5V and use that tutorial I linked earlier?

@Edumooney @shirky17 Ok just had a quick google and looks like what you are doing is actually powering the microbit via the edge connector. Try your circuit again but disconnect the 3V supply from the microbit. That is the battery pack not the connection to your breadboard.
