@CAF_Online I was very disappointed by Ghana today. There was no sense of urgency from the players despite being a goal down.
In the last minutes of the game they were still playing back passes instead of pushing forward for a goal
PRESS STATEMENT BY SENATOR OKIYA OMTATAH ON THE PUBLIC DEBT CASE RULING
Fellow Kenyans,
Today, the High Court delivered an important ruling in our public debt case.
The Court upheld the @IMFNews claim of diplomatic immunity and struck it out of this petition. While we respect the Courtโs decision, accountability for Kenyaโs debt burden cannot end there.
We are preparing a separate legal challenge to the Bretton Woods Agreements Act, 1963, against the Constitution of Kenya 2010 to ensure all actors involved in Kenyaโs debt processes are subjected to proper scrutiny.
Most importantly, the Court rejected attempts by the Attorney General and other respondents to have this case dismissed. The judges ruled that our petition will proceed to a full hearing on its merits.
The Court also dismissed applications by the former Auditor General, former Controller of Budget, the current Auditor General, and the current Controller of Budget seeking to shield themselves from these proceedings.
This is a significant victory for transparency, accountability, and the Kenyan people.
We will amend our petition as directed by the Court and return on 22nd July 2026. Our mission remains unchanged: to establish how Kenya accumulated trillions in public debt, how the funds were utilized , whether the public benefited and whether the law was followed at every stage.
This case is about protecting the future of our nation and the interests of every Kenyan taxpayer.
We remain focused, determined, and committed to seeing it through.
God Bless Kenya.

Tomorrow, we are marching peacefully to Parliament to lay flowers for the Gen Z heroes whose lives were ruthlessly cut short by police bullets.
We have asked President Ruto and his government to line up uniformed police officers along the route we gave them to protect us and businesses from his gang of goons and killer cops. This request is not a favour but a constitutional right to a peaceful march. No more illegal arrests, abductions, bloodshed, and killings.
For those outside Nairobi, feel free to visit the families of the Gen Z heroes. Their sacrifice shall not be forgotten, and one day their killers and their masters will be held accountable.

@CarolRadull I totally support this.
You can't just wake up and decide 3 teams are going to be relegated/ promoted.
Such decisions need to be made before the league starts to avoid any malice.
@FIFAcom@FIFAWorldCup This yearโs WorldCup could be remembered for all the wrong reasons.
Accessibility and openness should be core requirements for any country hosting a global sporting event.

In 2025, FIFA President Gianni Infantino promised a tournament of absolute global unity:
"Everyone will be welcome in Canada, Mexico and the United States for the FIFA World Cup next year... The world needs occasions of unity, of bringing teams together, of bringing people together."
Fast forward to today, the reality on the ground tells a different story. In addition to Stadium restrictions, fans, teams, teams staff and officials have faced restrictions in one way or the other with some having their visa applications rejected.
๐น๏ธ Somalia's Africa best Referee Denied Access to US
In what was meant to be a historic milestone, Omar Abdulkadir Artanโs dream of becoming the first Somali referee to officiate at a FIFA World Cup has collapsed after being denied entry to the U.S.ย
Despite holding a valid visa, the elite African official was turned back at Miami International Airport and forced to return to Istanbul due to"vetting concerns" as Somalia remains on the U.S. travel ban list.
FIFA has confirmed this stating Artan "will be unable to train and officiate at the FIFA World Cup 2026."
"FIFA is not involved in host country immigration processes, including visa adjudications. In line with previous FIFA events, a host government ultimately determines who receives a visa and who is admitted into their country"
๐น๏ธIran forced to train in Mexico afterย US refusal
Amid the ongoing US-Israeli conflict with Tehran, Iran's World Cup squad has been told it must enter and leave the United States on the same day. As a result, the teamโs base has been moved from Arizona to the Mexican border city of Tijuanaย during the tournament.
In March, US President Donald Trump saidย Iran was welcome to participate in the World Cup but that he did not believe it was appropriate for Iranโs team to be in the United States โfor their own life and safety.โ

๐น๏ธSouth Africa Depart Without Assistant Coach After Visa Delay
South Africa's World Cup squad departed for the tournament a day late on Monday and was forced to leave its assistant coach behind following difficulties in securing US travel visas.
The Sports Minister Gayton McKenzie described the situation as "embarrassing," telling the South African Football Association (SAFA): "I need a report, and action must be taken against those responsible for this mess. We are being made to look like fools.โ
5. FIFA Bans Vuvuzelas, Reusable Bottles, and Other Items from World Cup Venues.
In the name of safety and public health, several items have been banned from all 2026 World Cup venues.
๐น๏ธVuvuzelas: Fans hoping to recreate the iconic soundtrack of the 2010 World Cup will have to leave their vuvuzelas at home. FIFA has banned the plastic horns and a range of other noise-making devices from all venues.
๐น๏ธReusable Water Bottles: In a last-minute reversal, FIFA has prohibited fans from bringing reusable water bottles into stadiums. Each spectator is permitted to bring one soft, plastic, factory-sealed disposable water bottle of up to 20 ounces (590ml) with Hard-sided, resealable containers banned on safety and security grounds.
FIFA holds a long-standing partnership with Coca-Cola, whose water brand Dasani will be sold at all World Cup venues to address the North American heat as temperatures are expected to range between 26 and 28 degrees Celsius (79 to 82 degrees Fahrenheit).ย
โInside the stadium footprint, pricing for water bottles for the FIFA World Cup 2026 will remain โ consistent with other events held at each stadium.โ FIFA said
