In 2022, thanks to a grant from the Department of Defense, the JROTC STEM Leadership Academy was replicated for the first time. By Summer 2025, the Academy Model will be scaled to 10 different locations across the US.

Since 2021, thousands of Cadets have had the opportunity to experience the JROTC STEM Leadership Academy thanks to a $6M grant to scale the Academy Model at 10 JROTC locations between 2021 and 2025.

Between 2018 and 2021, Cadets at JROTC STEM camps and traditional JROTC camps were surveyed and assessed as part of a $1M grant to research the short- and long-term impacts of the STEM Leadership Academy model.

Between 2016 and 2017, 300 Cadets participated in the JROTC STEM Leadership Academy. The team worked to refine the academy model and developed new STEM curriculum centered around local industries: maritime, aviation, and manufacturing.

In 2015, 120 Cadets participated in the 1st JROTC STEM Leadership Academy in Mobile, AL. The Academy was designed, funding was secured, and the curriculum was based on STEM across industries.

Join us as we look back at the incredible evolution of the National JROTC STEM Leadership Academy! In 2013, the team launched the idea of the JROTC STEM Leadership Academy and partnerships were established with MCPSS, JROTC, STEMWorks, and the University of Southern Mississippi.
