UPDATE: Miss Universe Jamaica Dr Gabrielle Henry is now admitted to a corporate area hospital under the supervision of a neurologist. She landed at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston under medical escort late Thursday evening. Her mother and sister were also aboard the flight from Thailand which connected in the United States. Dr Henry got off the plane in a wheelchair and was later placed on a gurney and wheeled into an ambulance for transportation to the medical facility.
▫️At the airport, she was greeted by her father; legal counsel, Marc Ramsay; and Carl Williams and Mark McDermott, co national directors of the Miss Universe Jamaica Organisation.
▫️She reportedly interacted gracefully with those who greeted her in a restricted welcome area.
▫️The beauty queen had been hospitalized in Thailand with serious injuries she received on November 19 when she fell through an opening on the main stage for the formal wear segment of the Miss Universe preliminary round competition.
▫️The fall caused bleeding inside the head, loss of consciousness, a fracture, facial cuts and other significant injuries.
▫️Dr Henry still requires 24-hour specialist supervision.
▫️She had a full medical escort on the flight from Bangkok, paid for by the Miss Universe Organization.

I’ve allocated $4 million from @UNCERF to get urgent aid to people affected by Hurricane Melissa in Jamaica. This will allow @UN agencies and partners to scale up life-saving aid.
Our @SamaritansPurse team has finished setting up a community water filtration system in Black River, Jamaica, where Hurricane Melissa damaged or completely destroyed every home and structure. This is a critical need and these systems can provide clean water to up to 10,000 people per day. We are airlifting two more community water systems and additional shelter tarp tomorrow. #Pray
