Crazy story in Italy today: Filippo D’Aiuto was disqualified after winning 32° Memorial Polese, with a 60 KM solo.

His bike was fully compliant when the race began, but a crash caused his brake levers to move into an illegal angle.

I'm shocked they DSQed him for that... 🤯

Do you think this is a safe finish? This is the shit we have to deal with tomorrow in Tour of South Bohemia (UCI2.2). Final 5km downhill, then a 120° right turn 100m before the finish. The same finish last year did (of course) end in a crash.

Not to mention the fact that a car almost ran us down in a roundabout today. I am so fed up with this race.

Apparently our sports directors were warned about this over the radio. Good thing we don’t have radios in .2 races then, no way the riders can be notified from the team cars

Side note: on today’s first stage we were almost hit by two oncoming responding ambulances. The motor cycles and comissaire did not react at all.
Of course an ambulance needs to be given right of way, but at least neutralize the race???
