Effective Leaders know that if they don't focus on morale then they fail their staff. It builds the basis for a strong winning culture and when they model its importance, it encourages everyone on team to be responsible for it.

Students, teachers, staff, and admin are beyond stressed and exhausted. Patience, Love and Grace are so important right now.

Teachers, help students be their best.
1) build intentional relationships
2) focus on high expectations
3) help develop their talents ( i.e worth/success)
4) connect w/their interests
5) challenge students after they experience success
6) support/ encourage them
7) celebrate

My best classroom management technique was to give students recess, and time to move around and burn off energy. Helps keep them focused so you get more work done in less time.

Holiday break is to refresh, refuel, reflect and spend time with family & friends, even if remotely. So, no work, no homework, no PD's, no new curriculum, no emails, no assignments, nothing. School is closed.

Teachers, if there is one solace you can take away from these turbulent times is that your students may not remember much of what you taught, but they will remember that you cared, showed grace, made them feel valued, and supported. They will remember that forever.

With all the frustrations of school right now, don't get caught up in the negative grapevine. It will only bring you down more and remember, the person who will gossip to you will also gossip about you. So stay above the fray and you will be ok!
