MLA @drotchford_BC returning to the @BCLegislature virtually from her hospital bed to cast her vote in Chambers less than 6 hours after delivering her newborn daughter is definitely the most badass working-mom moment I've had the privilege of witnessing in #bcpoli.

Pink Shirt Day is an important reminder that bullying and harassment have no place in our workplaces. Today the BCGEU’s Public Service Bargaining Committee members are wearing pink to show their ongoing commitment to ensuring all workers have safe, inclusive, and supportive workplaces.
Unions play a critical role in combating workplace bullying and harassment. Through collective bargaining, unions can secure anti-harassment protections, enforce workplace rights, and hold employers accountable for fostering respectful workplaces.

We understand the Gov’t of Canada has invited provinces to sign the next 5-year Canada-Wide Early Learning & Child Care Agreements. We wrote to @lisabeare@ReahArora asking that B.C. sign to confirm continued federal funding #ChildcareBC#bcpoli#10adaychildcare
Week two of Public Service bargaining begins today in Burnaby.
The 34,000 members of B.C.’s public service deliver the services we all rely on to protect and support families, communities, the economy and our natural environment. To name just a few, this very diverse group of workers includes court workers, conservation officers, and wildland firefighters like Zachary.

What an honour to speak to 900+ members at the #BCFED 2024 Convention this week. An opportunity to reflect on what can be accomplished when we work together on behalf of BC workers. Better working conditions, safer workplaces, stronger communities. People deserve nothing less.
Solidarity in the labour movement on very clearly on display this morning with the re-election of Sussanne Skidmore and Hermender Singh Kailley as President and Secretary of the B.C. Federation of Labour. Strong leadership for #bclab and in #bcpoli for workers
BCGEU members continue to stand in solidarity with postal workers as they take job action. Pictured in the left photo is Bessy, a BCGEU member from Local 310 (far right), and in the right photo is Jiban, Local 610 1st vice (far right). They’ve been supporting Canada Post workers in Dawson Creek.

“Canadians often assume the main drivers of economic growth are industries like resources and manufacturing. This evidence shows, however, that ambitious expansion of ELCC services has in fact been a leading light of Canada’s economic performance since the pandemic,” #10adaychildcare #bcpoli
