There is a Certain Type of leftist/progressive who can’t shut the fuck up about Taylor Swift, and even if I wasn’t a fan of her music, I would find it off-putting
No one has anything new to add. It’s just a bunch of bunch of people who read the same substacks and watch the same TikToks shouting “billionaire!!!” (most of her net worth is the ownership of her extremely valuable intellectual property) or “private jet!!” (she's one of the few people who has no business flying commercial; mere rumors of her presence would shut down any airport) or “insufficient support of progressive causes!!” (I agree, but she’s been vocally anti-MAGA, donates many millions, and pays her employees exceptionally well; in general I’d rather have fewer celebrities talking about politics)
I get annoyed by the stans who can't ever acknowledge a misstep or a genuine critique, but I'm equally bored and put off by fellow progressives who can't move the hell on from this topic. This petty, doesn’t-matter, bullshit discourse is genuinely a symptom of why we don't win
You don’t need to moralize your dislike of Taylor Swift. You can just be normal and ignore her
It is possible to believe two things at once: That the long-suffering people of Iran deserve freedom from their despotic leaders, and that a bombing campaign by the current highly corrupt authoritarian government of America is unlikely to bring it.

“A lot of people talk down on Mississippi like we’re a bunch of nobodies” is quite the pointed statement after his former head coach essentially said such while on the broadcast of the Texas Bowl.
