The Holy Sepulcher has been under Muslim guards (family of @gnuseibeh) since the 12C, because of their "neutrality" vis-à-vis quarreling Christian factions (Latin Catholics, Greek Orthodox, Armenian).
Meanwhile Israel expelled ~half the original Christians in 1948.
some of y'all are really comfortable acting like da7ye or jnoub or beqaa is some far alien area, as if they are not part of your country and as if you don't share the same blood with people living their. You don't have to be a certain sect to feel for people btw
Should a Sunni find this scene “demeaning” or insulting to the office? Absolutely not. PM Salam is intentionally and consciously making an important point that more Lebanese need to understand: A politician is not a Zaïm
BREAKING:
🇮🇱🇦🇷 Israeli tourists caught causing huge fires in Argentina in a forest full of natural resources
An Israeli tourist was caught lighting fires in Los Glaciares National Park, in the Argentinian Patagonia a couple of days ago.
Now Argentinian authorities are reporting that they found M26 IM grenades (used by the Israeli military) spread around Lake Epuyen in Chubut as well.
As I argued between 1991 and 2001, the West and the US made catastrophic mistakes during the Cold War by allying themselves with the Mujahidin-Jihadists and the Ikhwan while they were pushing back against the communists and Soviets. Instead of working with moderate societies and reformers, they empowered the jihadists.
The West ended up being hit hard by the jihadists, during the 1990s, on 9/11 and since. Total miscalculation, naivety, and recklessness.
Now we are making the same mistake...
