“When beliefs remain unexamined or unchallenged, it can lead to behaviors that are counterproductive to students’ success.” - .@Jenni_Donohoo
Thankful for those friends who give their gift of time to rumble with each other - in an effort to grow and be vulnerable. #MichMLT
@smithand1015 Wow! What a gift! I couldn’t think of better words to describe the servant leader that you are. You remind us all to operate in alignment with what/who we value. Many many thanks for the positive impact you make in this wonderful profession!
It’s time to say 👋🏽goodbye👋🏾 to the deficit based models, and to start seeing individuals for the amazing, capable, diverse humans that they are. Highlight the strengths, find the assets, see the good... build on it!
I’m not sure who deserves the credit for this (Ken Williams?) but how might these statements resonate with you? How might our actions relate to what we think and believe about others? How might these words impact the identities of the students/people we are blessed to serve?
Mask up. Practice distancing. The pressure we’re putting on our medical professionals is unconscionable.
Not me. WE.
Not them. US
We have to do this together.
It is extremely important for educators to work on their mental & physical health right now. Whether school is in person or virtual, we are dealing with stress that we have never encountered. Take time for yourself daily/weekly - read, walk, rest, spend time with loved ones.
@jscholma This is a great reflection tool, Jon! So much to strive for in those statements to create a classroom full of independent learners and problem solvers. Thanks for sharing.
