Affordable housing at 80% of the unit’s market value is NOT affordable in my books. Affordable is at 30% of a full-time min wage or $860/month. We need to build units at this price because people are ending up homeless or being left behind.

It starts with making them legal. Currently they’re illegal in almost every neighbourhood in almost every city in North America, Australia/NZ etc. Corner coffee shops, convenience stores etc. If we’re serious about walkable, “complete,” “15-minute neighbourhoods, this is obvious.
