Garden warbler passed through my garden today, song thrush eating elderberry, plenty of young blue and great tit's ,house Martins still buzzing about but swifts all seem to have departed.clouded yellow, painted lady and hummingbird hawkmoths everywhere .
Last weekend there were approximately 30 swifts at charlton horethorne and 60 around sherborne Abbey, today about 20 clouded yellow butterflies in field beyond southern end of Sutton bingham reservoir.
3 red kite and 2 buzzards over house yesterday around 7pm ,2 hummingbird hawkmoth and painted ladies have been regular on lavender ,lots of baby blue tit's using the birdbath and 2 blackbirds fledged yesterday exactly the same day as last year.
Another singing firecrest this one in south street milborne port I struggled for firecrest when I first started birding back in the day now they seem reasonably easy to get
Lesser whitethroat and garden warblers singing away at lydlinch today but alarmingly no willow warblers or nightingales possibly another site has lost a great bird we should be worried but does anybody really care ?
