A few months ago, @btingang and I decided to setup this FB group to connect prospective and current Malaysian 🇲🇾 doctors working in Ireland 🇮🇪 to share experiences, tips & tricks. Link below for anyone's interested!

@TeamYouTube@TeamYouTube. I’ve already gone through those articles and the Live Support link – it just loops me back to self-help and never shows any chat/email option. Could you please connect me directly with Support or DM me to check my account/region?
Hi @TeamYouTube, YouTube Premium keeps saying "Can't verify your country" on all my devices. I live in Malaysia and can pay for Google One in MYR on the same Google account, but Premium only works if I use an Ireland VPN. Can you please fix my region to MY?
One of the things I had to go give up when I decided to pack up and move Ireland was essentially all of my savings. I’m just glad within less than 2 years here I’ve made it back and then some!
Three years after archiving https://t.co/q9skpoltVO as a completed project, I am happy to announce the publication of my new book, The Traveling Photographer’s Manifesto: A Guide to Connecting With People and Place.
On one level, the book seeks to do for traveling photographers what Strobist always aspired to do for lighting photographers: to make professional-level techniques more accessible to enthusiasts.
But unlike Strobist, The Traveling Photographer’s Manifesto is about more than just camera craft. Because your camera is more than just a recording device. It also can be a versatile tool for meeting people, unlocking new experiences, and enhancing your understanding of the world around you.
Which, in turn, is what leads to even better photos.
The Traveling Photographer’s Manifesto is available now in hardcover, paperback, and Kindle, on Amazon sites worldwide: https://t.co/hnFzCHzS9f
I hope you enjoy it, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts.
Every now and again the itch to get back into VGC competitively does come into my mind, especially now when Malaysia is due to have its annual regionals. But hey, life has to happen and it’s just sacrifices I have to make for myself.
@HungWeipin1@Seanthum I feel that this sentiment has especially been indoctrinated in a Malaysian context due to lack of resources to get more manpower in allied health professionals ie OT, social work; and somewhat lack of knowledge (“Dr kan gaji besar, Dr buat la”)
@HungWeipin1@Seanthum Have to agree with this, even in Ireland social workers would be at hand for these types of matters. “Ideally” clinicians should have this, but with caseload management is best to delegate and in a way divide and conquer.
Filling up this training scheme application really makes me appreciate how far I've come from med school. Looking all the back when I started out as a HO in internal medicine in 2019 to me being a psych registrar really puts things into perspective!
I feel like my disillusionment with how Malaysia is progressing is hitting a new high, I’m just grateful that things are sorta working out for me here.
