A6: After a long look at his catalog, I see his 1968 release, For Once in my Life, as a good testament for the future. As we continue, we can start controlling what we do and take charge of where we want the world to go! Happy Birthday to a legend! #Jandolichat
I could only see this as them wanting to back it up with a tour. Now's the time for music to be released. Think of Bob Dylan released his first full-length album in 8 years. I could only see waiting as a cash grab. #Jandolichat
A5: It most definitely has. Besides the music being created, artists have been releasing new acoustic covers, home concerts, and even full length shows that were previously pay-per-view. Artists are allowing a new take on their music, and I can’t get enough of it. #Jandolichat
Q5: Some of you may have answered this already, but has the pandemic given you an opportunity to listen to something new or different from what you usually would listen to? #JandoliChat
A4: Musicians seem to understand that things must be taken slow. I would love to see a “drive-in” show, but as far as a return to normal? I agree with the year halt. When you are able to see your favorite band again, it will make it all the better. #Jandolichat
Q4: We have another Q4 (I teach journalism, not math): What do you foresee for live concerts in the future? Are the days of crowded clubs and arena shows behind us? #JandoliChat
The best thing we can do is buy a physical copy of their music, and purchase some merch. An artist makes a substantial amount more off the sale of a single cd then streaming sites could ever give them! Time to start adding to that CD collection once again! #Jandolichat
A3: As they say, music soothes the savage beast. It has provided a great escape for anyone who’s cooped up at home. It can take you on an emotional journey and help get you through the toughest of times. One thing you’ll never have to lose is a great tune! #Jandolichat
Q3: Enjoying all your comments. Here is a new question: What is it about music that we find comforting and inspiring during times of crisis? #JandoliChat
@Jandoli_Inst With Dylan's release of new music and a full-length album, the quarantine seems to be a great headspace for writing. One that particularly stuck out was @mikelove's latest release, This too Shall Pass. It depicts the times we live in, with the classic Beachboys twist #Jandolichat
A1: @Joebonamasa partnered with @keepingthebluesalive to provide a relief fund for touring musicians. Here he has listed special events with the guitarist as well as an easy text form of donation. It’s a definitive lifeline for the struggling industry! #Jandolichat
Q1: Let’s get started. Since the pandemic began, we’ve had fundraisers featuring music stars, musicians doing live performances from their homes and other special moments. Is there one event that touched you more than any of the others? #JandoliChat
Hello, I'm Steve Wilt, Senior Journalism Major @StBonaventure and former station manager of two years for WSBU-FM. There I began my career of interviewing musicians both on-air and off. Most recently I started a podcast, telling the stories of music's finest! #Jandolichat
I'm hosting a Twitter chat on the role of music during the pandemic. You can join the discussion at #JandoliChat on Tuesday at 7 p.m. I'll be joined by @carolemcnall, @patrickhosken and @stephen_wilt. https://t.co/NJ81YOPyMg
