@lizzy_becherano Hola y muchísimas gracias por la entrevista con Eva…¿hay un versión más larga que lo que está disponible en la página de ESPN deportes? Gracias!!!
You don't have to wonder what our sports world would look like if women's sports were given the same spectacularization - Nebraska volleyball is doing it today.
@franbuitragoc@xavierginesta Look at Beckham. In the ten years since he left the LA Galaxy, the franchise has languished, often missing the playoffs, finishing near the bottom of the league, and in dead last this year.
That club has been surpassed by the incredibly-well run and branded LAFC.
@franbuitragoc@xavierginesta Finally, if #Messi does indeed, become the Mickey Mouse of MLS...it is worth asking whether his superstardom, so useful for Inter's effort to (finally) build a stadium complex in Miami, will overshadow or swallow the rest of the league's clubs.
What I find interesting about the #Messi to @InterMiamiCF news is how his mythology will overshadow the idea that the club existed before his arrival. The move alters the club's entire narrative trajectory, by erasing the "Before Messi Era" and launching the "After Messi Era."
I'm not sure exactly why I'm so tickled by this fan performance - the smiles, the father-daughter bonding, the not-so-gentle teasing of Toronto - but it is glorious.
The flimsiness of the defense offered by the Staals, Reimer, etc. tells you all you need to know abt the ideologies of masculinity and Christianity inherent in sport. That the Staals wore the shirts before allows us the skepticism of their "tinted dissent" @BurntO_Butterwo
NEW: I wrote about being gay at World Cup in Qatar: the people I met & what I learned. Most disenfranchised & isolated I’ve felt while at work. Because men’s football & Qatar share a trait: LGBT people are invisible & their lives are not respected
