Hello https://t.co/BwsLP8hJo9 users: the State of Housing in Harris County and Houston i.e. the thing I've worked on for the past 6 months is out and public today. This year's report focuses exclusively on renting.
Here's the NPR story

@taygoldenstein At Rice it's the unspoken rule that professors are called "Professor" or "Doctor" by undergrads, which was not the case at the large state schools I came from. I think it's good to err towards the formal, generally, when I reach out to other academics.
@NoahMF I would assume Houston metro is more of an attractor. It's the classic midwest case where states like Iowa and Illinois invest a lot in education only to have their public school grads move out of state.
@NoahMF I have worked at Rice for 6 years and I have met only 1 TT professor who grew up in the entire Houston metro. I know more from the area of North Jersey where I grew up.
@willystaley I regularly do press about Houston housing issues but once, randomly, got a press/interview request for a community radio station in Crescent City. The guy was a great interviewer and incredibly well prepared!
@TownsUsa The only Frank Lloyd Wright skyscraper, wealthy oil people, Frank Phillips old ranch which has shrunken heads on display, open faced hot hamburgers at Murphy's the owners of which memorialized their gravy at their tomb
