@AlisonMoyet Couldn’t agree more. Debate and difference is the road to discovery when we drop the zero sum game, with or without me attitude. I learnt & enjoyed so much the conversations with a friend who saw the world differently. We never defended, debated robustly, & most of all respected
Perhaps after his departure he is looking to provide material for a remake of “bird/fortune” interviews - (reference for a certain generation) so feel free to look them up. @rorybremner@mrjamesob@NickFerrariLBC
@JMPSimor@RishiSunak Astounding. Even for LT. The victimhood & lack of self accountability poisons the well & disconnect us all. When we are disconnected, bad feelings lead to dangerous thoughts & action. Even if we accepted ‘the establishment’ as monster under the bed, why didn’t LT deal with that?
@ShelaghFogarty@mrjamesob Ps. Anyone who trains in comm skills as I do could sort this in 30 mins (quite apart from the fact the idea should have probably been filed under uses unknown from the off)
@ShelaghFogarty@mrjamesob Quite extraordinary. Most people loathe public speaking/presenting (as an actor & trainer I know it scuppers the most talented of folk) yet the mind still boggles as how this get past the most optimistic of approvers. Another case of marking own homework which 😱 everyone.
@johannhari101 Noooo….😉. Makes me feel a little better as been trying to write a narrative (book a stretch) whilst in trenches for 7 yrs (& of course getting nowhere). Suspect 5 mins speaking with you & more focus from me & the narrative would pop. Bon chance. When not writing, ever mentor?
@johannhari101 I’d nuance further & suggest that many define those that disagree or simply hold different views as evil etc…it’s woven into the fabric of our interaction because we’ve lost the art of connection (great book btw). This is partly down to social media & isolation 👉 insular views
@johannhari101 Loved your books on this, & am currently in about year 4 of creating a narrative & part ‘toolkit’ on the fact that connection is a critical act of self & societal care. (I know - 4 yrs is glacial). Connection is (imho) THE bridge to innate needs of belonging & becoming.
@mrjamesob ps. No problem it was taken down. It’s the means by which it was - *may* encourage others to break law first & seek proportional forgiveness later. What’s the knock on effect of personal responsibility and restraint? Same argument for the insulate Britain grp etc.
@mrjamesob remarkable…as intimated before either no self awareness of how incongruous they are (in which case am I allowed to suggest 2 short planks or too pejorative?) or they are aware & ignore hypocrisy suggesting they view us with contempt. Or he’s just saying Brits don’t want his jobs
@mrjamesob The underlying issue here is that ND (& many politicians) either don’t recall having such extreme positions (which seems doubtful) or do & simply don’t care about the incongruence. Aka demonstrating total disdain for the rest of us. This is one example of this systemic faultline.
@theamitshah Thanks for post. I’d have to qualify myself out as no way could I turn that much around in time. Nub of your post is how acceptable to be asked in first place. I’d always explore their ask - but in absence of a good reason, 14 pages on a 1st S/T implies a wonky rudder.
@ben_whistler After 3 mths our sofa arrived in a white van. Installation & set up paid for at vast cost but "courier" was told to deliver to threshold only. Sofa supposed to be forklifted on (wasn't) & "white glove" delivery off. Neither. Sofa feet chipped. Unacceptable
