For the first time this publicly, I shared this weekend a snapshot of the bullying I’ve experienced in my life & how my dad kicked me out as a teen for being gay. Hoping to inspire folks to watch their words, especially to their children. It’s long but sharing here (thread):
Markwayne Mullin wants to pull Customs and Border Protection officers from airports in sanctuary cities, which would shut down international arrivals at New York, Los Angeles, Boston, and San Francisco. He has been pushing this unprompted in White House meetings. He is, by one Trump official's account, obsessed with it.
The travel industry ran the numbers. Shutting down customs at Newark alone risks $8 billion in yearly travel spending and $100 million in daily imports. Across all targeted sanctuary-city airports, the estimate is over $70 billion in US economic activity at risk.
The FIFA World Cup final is July 19 at MetLife Stadium. Fifteen minutes from Newark International. Newark is the primary international entry point for World Cup fans. Mullin wants to pull customs officers from Newark to reassign them to an ICE detention center protest.
Seventeen travel and business trade groups - including the US Chamber of Commerce - wrote to Mullin telling him this would cause chaos across the entire national air transportation system. His own colleague Sean Duffy, Trump's Transportation Secretary, told a congressional hearing that "we shouldn't shut down air travel in a state that doesn't agree with our politics."
When the US Chamber of Commerce and your own cabinet colleague are telling you the plan is incoherent, the plan is incoherent. Mullin's logic is that sanctuary cities can't have immigration enforcement without cooperation, therefore they shouldn't get customs processing either. That's not governance. That's a hostage situation with a boarding pass.
@ABC I think he should release his entire catalogue on all streaming platforms first. Surely that will case the value to go up, no? Because we don’t get to listen to him.
What Iowans are reading about @ZachLahn on day 1 of the general election:
“He was a Koch-connected political operative who blocked Medicaid expansion in Montana, co-founded a Koch-funded private school in Kansas, and barely met Iowa’s residency requirement to run.” #IAGov
BREAKING — The New York State Legislature has passed a redistricting amendment allowing congressional maps to be approved by a simple majority.
It could enable Dems to flip several GOP seats in 2028. It would still need legislative approval after the midterms and voter approval in 2027.
Two scientists are facing federal charges in Detroit for allegedly smuggling vials of deactivated mpox virus into the U.S. from Africa. Authorities said the pair were stopped at an airport and lied about carrying biological materials. @DavidMuir reports. https://t.co/5AfNO4jzqv
New reports reveal GOP Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp sold 3 lakefront properties shortly after he became governor.
The properties had been listed for over a decade, and the people who bought the properties were later given valuable government contracts and appointed to high-ranking positions.
I stood at this pool, at both monuments and saw both reflections…
He’s a God damn idiot, as are the fools that support him. The “Reflection Pool” wasn’t designed by American architect Henry Bacon a hundred years ago to look like a swimming pool. It’s designed to have a darkened characteristics that has reflective qualities to reflect the monuments.
That way, the Washington Monument is reflective to you when at the Lincoln Memorial, and when at the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial is reflective to you.
It’s designed to enhance the grandeur of monuments, create an illusion of reflection, and inclusion of expansive space of unity.
He’s a tacky vulgar person that vulgarizes everything he touches. America isn’t becoming great, it’s becoming vulgar.

This was real cocaine! The Russian Orthodox Church has been hit by one of its biggest scandals in a decade
Czech police said that the powder found in the car of Metropolitan Hilarion of the Russian Orthodox Church was indeed cocaine, according to Deník N.
Today he was reassigned to serve in Brazil. That raises questions — a promotion to a region often described as a global hub for cocaine production?
His new posting is considered one of the key transit points for cocaine flows to Europe and Africa, where major drug trafficking networks operate.
Meanwhile, in Hungary, more than 500 kg of cocaine from Latin America was discovered today (video). The shipment was disguised as bananas from Ecuador.
This is the largest drug seizure in the country’s history.
What is going on in the sewers of New York City? It's a question locals and officials are trying to answer as people have been seen popping in and out of the ground.
“Seven grown adults going down there? Got to be something, man,” a local said. https://t.co/6OqhYvHY57
Trump hasn’t made a public appearance in 8 days. This after an unscheduled visit to the hospital- because he “likes getting check ups.” Thank God Jake Tapper (or as I like to call him- the Brick Tamland of his generation) is on the case hunting down clues in a book about my mom’s experience as First Lady four years ago.
🚨BREAKING: In Columbus, Ohio, ICE agents hit a U.S. citizen’s vehicle, and then admitted, on camera, that they “do this all the time”… before driving away.
A 17-year-old U.S. citizen was reportedly on his way to church, when multiple officials surrounded his car, backed into his front bumper, and jumped out of their vehicles.
When he rolled down his window, they told him…
“We got the wrong person.”
And walked back toward their cars.
The 17-year-old got out to document what happened, and told an officer they had hit his vehicle…
And the response was:
“You can take a picture if you want. We do this all the time. You’re okay.”
And then they drove off.
The Fourth Amendment protects you from unreasonable searches and seizures. And courts have made clear that a “seizure” isn’t just being arrested, or put in handcuffs.
It also includes situations where law enforcement use their authority in a way that blocks your freedom to leave… or creates an intimidating, forced encounter.
So, when officers surround a car, hit it while backing up, and pull a teenager into a sudden law enforcement interaction, with no valid reason…
At minimum, it’s a reckless stop. At worst, it’s an unlawful seizure, with property damage, and no accountability.
And then there’s the part when she casually said…
“We do this all the time.”
Because that turns an “oops” moment into a pattern.
And when that pattern violates your constitutional rights and due process, it starts to feel a lot like the government is using the Constitution like they use the Bible…
Quoted when it’s useful, ignored when it isn’t.
The federal government just banned bison from public land in Montana.
Not cattle.
Bison.
Interior Secretary Burgum revoked grazing permits for 950 bison
on 63,000 acres of federal land in northeastern Montana.
The reason?
Bison raised for conservation don't count as livestock
under a 1934 law.
Bison raised for meat and milk? Fine.
Bison raised to restore a native species to its native land? Get out.
Meanwhile, cattle ranchers across the West keep grazing on your land.
For $1.69 a month.
One cow. One calf. Thirty days. $1.69.
On land that belongs to every American.
The Cheyenne River Sioux. The Coalition of Large Tribes —
50+ Native nations. Defenders of Wildlife.
They all filed formal protests.
They called it exactly what it is.
"DEI for cows."
The bison have until September 30 to be gone.
Who decided cattle belong on public land more than bison do?
