@liambeadle Since when does disagreeing with someone make them unsafe to be open around? I disagree fundamentally with my own mother on the nature of Holy order. That doesn’t make it unsafe for us to be open with one another about it.
If a priest introduces himself as Father Surname, he should address his parishioners as Mr., Mrs., or Miss Surname. Same with Doctor Surname and patients. Same with college Professor Surname and students. Or we could just not fool with it and use Christian names.
@2D0XPS Pleasing to see some variety between dioceses in style in the letter of orders mine both have drop down seals.
My licences and certificate of having taken the oaths are sealed on the certificate and my collation certificate is also a drop down seal.
@AngAesthetics 3 fold holy order is one thing. If you can be ordained to one you must be capable of being ordained to all 3. This is because the diaconate and presbyterate all partake of the episcopate which is the fullness of Holy Order.
@JamesRice21 It’s the time energy and skill that it takes. I still need to finish off our new website but it took a couple of days to sort it out. Social media both has to be done but also you need to have the relevant policies and practices in place for it
@ruby_dunn01@BMcGrewvy It never hurts to ask the question because the answer can always be “no”. But I do wonder how many vocations go unfulfilled because the question is never asked and so is never explored
@ruby_dunn01@BMcGrewvy Tbf I once heard someone say (and I can’t now remember who) that every young person should seriously consider if he is called to the priesthood or religious life. It’s sometimes a blunt question that finally gives someone a shove to get on with it.
@KingCrawa@2D0XPS I think I still hold the title of youngest vicar if not incumbent in general. I’m presently 27 and 360 days old having been vicar since I was 27 and 57 days old.
