“You’re decades late. You’re thousands of lives late… Don’t make another person pay for your mistakes with their lives.”
The sister of Hana St. Juliana, who was murdered at Oxford, is speaking in front of a MI Senate committee hearing on bills that would address gun violence.
Emma Riddle, an 18-year-old freshman at Michigan State University, survived the mass shooting at Oxford High School. On Monday night, she texted with her roommate, father and a friend while hiding in her dorm room during the mass shooting on MSU's campus. https://t.co/3Pu6E7coYT
The time is NOW. We hear you and stand with you Michigan State University survivors, Oxford High School survivors and activists. #EndGunViolence#SpartanStrong
Tom Izzo at MSU vigil: "I cry on national TV. Don't be afraid to show your emotions. We all process trauma in very different ways... If any of you need help, please speak up."
As MSU’s student body president closed the vigil’s remarks with “Go Green!” the massive crowd that had gathered instinctively responded, “Go White!”
The symbolism beautiful and poetic. When one Spartan calls out, the rest of us will immediately - and always - be there for you.

We do not have to live like this. No other country on the planet does.
Dear Republicans in Congress,
F*ck you and your ridiculous gun worship culture, your hands are dripping with blood from every single mass shooting America suffers.
Our children are more important than your NRA donations.
Signed,
Pissed off Americans
I just spoke to a wonderful person named Rebecca on the line below who helped with some of the grief I’m feeling.
I can’t recommend these resources enough right now. You’re all loved.
There could not have been more tone deaf article following the shooting last night.
Yes, Nassar is a garbage human being. But he had quite literally nothing to do with last night. And bringing up his name again is just salt in the wound of an already grieving campus. 💔
Too many of us scan rooms for exits when we enter. Many have gone through the grim exercise of figuring out who would be our last call. Last night, kids at MSU made those calls. They worried for their lives, their friends, their fellow Spartans
We can't keep living like this.
Just thinking about all the carefree nights I had on campus and in East Lansing, never feeling unsafe. That feeling that none of these students will ever have again. This world isn’t fair.
I hold few places closer in my heart than the campus of Michigan State University. The scenes are horrifying and surreal. We don’t need to live in a country where this happens, we can do better, we must do better, our kids deserve so much better. Thinking of all current students
While the police have now confirmed that the Michigan State shooter is dead, this is just the start of the healing process for MSU students & faculty.
It will be a very long road back to feeling safe on campus again, but the MSU community is a strong & resilient one.
