@lukedsimmons They have to “get it” (ministry philosophy) and get you. If not, the time you’re trying to save will be spent re-explaining, resetting, re-contextualizing, cleaning up, redoing.. or worse, you’ll stop assigning them things because “it’d be easier to do it myself.”
@lukedsimmons Have implemented this since the Lead Pastors Intensive in September. So very helpful. One of the easiest ways to develop a culture of embracing necessary change.
@redrobinburgers as I am thrilled to enjoy a gourmet burger with my fam in Green Bay for lunch, I have a genius idea for you: Slider burger flights! I want to eat the Lava Burger, the Scorpion Burger, and the Southern Charm Burger. A flight of sliders lets me enjoy all three!
@lukedsimmons I'm revisiting this as I'm scheduled for sabbatical starting June 1. I'm wondering if you have any suggestions for "Great Reads" while a Lead Pastor is on Sabbatical. Any of your own suggestions or a great resource with suggestions?
@ErikReed I’m leading our church to transition into Eldership rather than Solo-Pastor polity. This is helpful, inspiring, and timely for me. Thanks for sharing!
@lukedsimmons “And there were added that day about 3,000 souls… and the Lord added to their number day by day those where were being saved… But many of those who had heard the Word believed.. the men were about 5,000” - Acts 5: “How can we make sure our congregations stay small, brethren?”
@joe_rigney I have to thank you. I’m 4 chapters into “Leadership & Emotional Sabotage.” My goodness, this is one of the best books I’ve ever read for reorienting a man’s perspective to his leadership responsibilities, and the wherewithal to not be swayed, but be sober minded.
@lukedsimmons@joe_rigney As for the WHY.. I wonder if it’s at the ultimate level of the two kingdoms at play in the world, darkness and light. Why are all other religions celebrated or appeased today when Christianity is vilified?
@lukedsimmons I think @joe_rigney astutely identifies this as a “steering label” in “Leadership and Emotional Sabotage.” He talks about how opponents of Christianity will attempt to steer Christians through, even other Christians, via disparaging labels as a play to our desire for acceptance.
@lukedsimmons I can’t speak to #2 for this guy, but I’m imagine Paul David Tripp ticks all three (certainly 1 & 3).
Cost Hinn comes to mind for 1 & 2, don’t know if duration of #3 is checked here for him according to what you’re looking for.
Dr. Bob Utley comes to mind. Again not sure about 2.
