A big thank you to the student(s) who put me forward for this award.
I didn’t win, but it was a lovely surprise to be nominated, and I really enjoyed attending the awards ceremony. It was a privilege to be included alongside so many inspiring staff and students from @UEA
There is a physical craft to synthetic chemistry that must be mastered - Samples from an undergraduate organic chemistry lab class - Same instructions, same materials, same lab, same day, different hands...🥼⚗️👇
"Joint first author of the study, Dr. Michael Stephenson, a new group leader at the University of East Anglia and visiting scientist at the John Innes Centre" also says.... funded PhD opportunity now available in his lab 👉 https://t.co/G7vkPKB0EW 👀😁

More components have arrived for our custom vertical farming solution. Still awaiting a rather critical one - the growth lights, but at least we know the racking fits🥳Keep watching to see if N. benthamiana will grow in a chemistry lab @UEA_Chemistry 🌱⚗️👨🔬 #MolecularFarming
Congratulations @HannahHodgson93@AnneOsbourn1 & co. Amazing work during challenging times - When life gives you lemons make limonoids! Been a pleasure to be involve. Onwards to azadirachtin. Lots of interesting chemistry still to come @JohnInnesCentre@UEA_Chemistry#NorwichSci
@AdnanLe26299641@UEA_Chemistry Many thanks for your interest. Details of how to apply online can be found via the studentship page linked in the Tweet. All the best.
Looking for a postdoc to work in our team! This is for a chemical microbiology project looking at G-quadruplex and i-motif structures in controlling expression and biosynthesis of pathways for nitrous oxide production.
Really enjoyed teaching my first tutorials today.
Definitely learnt not to assume the room will have a functioning Whiteboard eraser.
Apologies to the next room booker if you can still see the remnants of my tropylium ions, but, I promise, most of them are on my fingers.🤦♂️

Apply to @Stephensomycin's group @uniofeastanglia for a PhD on "elucidating the control mechanisms of nature's most complex enzymatic reactions" - sounds like a fab project at the chemistry/biology boundary!🧪
