How come AI is treated as inevitable and something we must adapt to and accept, but renewable energy technology, sustainable infrastructure and electric cars aren’t treated with the same urgency or certainty?
one of my least controversial opinions is that, during summer, schools should be converted to extracurricular community centers for kids (that still provide breakfast and lunch) instead of being left empty for months.
Zohran has fixed 100,000 potholes in NYC, secured $1.2 billion for childcare, closed a $12 billion budget gap, and plans to invest $122M in NYC public schools. Oddly, no Sharia law yet.
America should have a universal job guarantee. We have so much work to do as a country. We should have centers that I can show up to at 7am with my ID and get assigned work for the day. Trash clean up, food pantry distribution I mean the possibilities are endless
Mamdani either has some serious strings behind him that’s allowing him to make all these changes, or he’s showing just how evil and corrupt these past mayors were..like it’s disgusting
I love how the Pope's encyclical is so well-written that people sincerely believe it was written by AI, because the notion of being that well-educated and qualified for a leadership role is genuinely foreign to the general public.
“In practice, however, technology is never neutral, because it takes on the characteristics of those who devise it, finance it, regulate it and use it.”
THANK YOU POPE LEO FOR SAYING THIS.
Time for the “technology is a tool with no inherent moral position” idea to die!
Watching all of Sheinbaum’s rapid fire accomplishments in Mexico and Mamdani’s similar run in NYC makes me think that, despite all of his flaws, a Bernie Sanders presidency would have been deeply transformative for America.
Even if Becerra wasn't a corporate puppet, he is too mentally weak to lead California. A California governor needs to have some balls, especially under the Trump regime. CA is too big a player on the world stage to be led by a bitch
