Billy Bragg on BBC News at Ten,
"Ed Sheeran should cancel his tour. Billionaire owners of football stadiums can't decide what people can or can't say on stage"
Billy Bragg is right to raise the bigger principle here.
If artists can be removed from a tour or disciplined for expressing concern about Palestinian civilians, the decision is no longer really about music. It is about wealthy stadium owners deciding which moral and political views are acceptable in public.
Ed Sheeran has every right to decide what he says on stage. But he should also ask whether silence is worth the price if others are being excluded for speaking about human suffering.
You know I actually admire the rangers absolute hatred for Celtic that they can't even let us be the embarrassment of Scottish football for more than 2 days before they take it off us.
@Geeb1872 Donโt know about anyone else but I think losing tonight is not an option, Iโd be genuinely embarrassed if rangers end up in the diddy conference leagueโฆ
It was a grand evening. The lads had me and a couple boys from the neighborhood over for cans and good talk. Itโs a long day tomorrow. Viva #Scotland
Ruud Gullit: "If winning the Champions League feels tough today, imagine how it was in my era. Only the actual national champions could enter, it wasn't even a yearly tournament for most teams.
"The title 'Champions League' has lost its true meaning: now even the fourth-place team qualifies.
"Back then, lifting the trophy was a mission that took two seasons: first win your league, then face Europe's finest straight away.
"No group stages. No safety net. One mistake and you were out.
"You could meet a giant in the very first roundโฆ and a single loss ended everything."
