My phrase for 2026 is "double down." I want to focus my attention on the things that are working and double down on those. Often, there are just a small number of things that work. The thing that works, works fast, and works significantly better than the next thing.
But it’s tempting to feel like there are many other things one should be trying. I’d like this phrase to help me identify the things that are working and develop a lot of conviction around them, instead of constantly pursuing new things. Sometime in 2019 or I invested like $1000 into nvidia. I was right but not right enough and that makes all the difference.
I'm also hopeful that this phrase directs my attention towards good things, things that are working, as opposed to things that are not working. often, making the things that work work even better is more impactful than fixing the broken things.
after a few years of effort, i'm fairly sure we're the only way you can do this:
100 performance on mobile lighthouse
100% shared ui, framework, routing, data, etc
native and web with a hydrated React client app
As orgs use frontier models to simulate populations and test policy, and individuals deploy agents as proxies in a multi-agent world, we should ask:
How do we make sure these agents actually understand our preferences and can faithfully represent them?

My ‘I love democracy, we need it desperately to effectively govern transformative tech & avoid dystopia, but to do that we must make it almost unrecognizably better via plural systems of collective intelligence + ownership’ manifesto is out in @WIRED! 1/

I frequently find myself in conversations w/ well-meaning people who’ll ask about crime, “Well, we have to do something about it!” And I ask them, “Then why support the same things we’ve always done, which plainly fail to prevent it, hurt people, & cost a fortune?” A dialogue:
@meta_angels@worldofwomennft Nominating the amazing @bradjaeger! He has been incredibly generous with his time in onboarding new people (like meee) to web3, and a beacon of kindness and gaiety to any discord he's joined. If anyone deserves a spot, it's absolutely him! 💜🐙
