@renylizardo Thanks @renylizardo! It definitely hasn't been an easy year, but we made it!! And the pics of James perfectly show his sweet and sour personality, too ๐
@renylizardo Thank you for the sweet words! @renylizardo I've (mostly) enjoyed being home with all the boys this year and it's good to know my fancy degrees and experience aren't going completely to waste ๐
@renylizardo @JamesBowieHS This turned out so great! You and our kids are so entertaining! ๐๐
Happy Teachers' Appreciation Week to everyone at Bowie! You're amazing and our family misses seeing you!
Social Distancing Day 10: It was officially announced that our district is shut down indefinitely. Oh, and we finished The Tiger King. Crazy people and unethical activities, but I couldn't look away (though sometimes watched through my fingers while covering my eyes and cringing)
Social Distancing Day 9: The school day was fine. Then tonight husband and I watched 3 episodes of The Tiger King. Holy moly. I am totally, 100% intrigued by the insanity of every single person on this show. And the music video montages are the most ridiculously fabulous part!
Social Distancing Day 8: Lessons were fine. Except for when the little ones screamed the whole time Eli was trying to do his reading work. Their methods of causing distraction are limitless. And loud.
Social Distancing Day 7: Kid #1 got mad again because we wouldn't let him go play with neighbors. Again. Ugh. But, I get it. And we will get through this. On to week 2 of learning at home! Learning and distraction helps!
Social Distancing Day 6: This afternoon was a little more difficult because our day was less structured than it was during the week. Poor Reny had to brave the store. Got to video chat with cousins. Supported a small business. Maybe less smooth today, but we did our best.
Social Distancing Day 5: We made it through our first week of school at home! But, Friday doesn't really mean much since we will still be home tomorrow.
Social Distancing Day 4: I missed a zoom appt for my kid to get a chance to see his teachers. I'm a bad substitute, I guess. Also, my kid got mad because I wouldn't let him go play with neighbors. Don't know how he forgot we are social distancing.
Social Distancing Day 3: We are getting stronger at our new routine. It feels meh. Almost had to send my student to detention to redo some subpar work he thought I wouldn't notice him trying to be sloppy with. He learned teacher mom won't accept that kind of quality.
Social Distancing Day 2: Today went a little more smoothly. We got more accomplished and actual learning/engagement occurred. I feel fortunate that my kid can benefit from having educators as parents, but he doesn't seem impressed by being taught by a former Teacher of the Year.
Social Distancing Day 1: Rough start. Homeschooling an 8 year old with toddlers around is hard. Making better plans for tomorrow, learning from my mistakes. We can do this! Day ended with our dog being put down. Bring on day 2! It HAS to be better than day 1!!
