"Holy war occasionally moves the already powerful to even greater efforts; it is doomed, however, whenever it flouts strategic or political realities" - Henry Kissinger in "World Order"
.@NYCMayor Mamdani’s hateful rhetoric is extremely dangerous. He knows precisely what he is doing and saying.
Imagine if he said this about any other ethnic group. How would people react?
Japanese actor Hiroyuki Sanada spoke about the contradictions of human nature:
“Some people dream of having a swimming pool at home, while those who have one hardly ever use it. Those who have lost a loved one feel a profound sense of loss, while others often complain about their living relatives. Those without a partner long for one, while those who have one often don't appreciate it. The hungry would give anything for a meal, while the satiated complain about the taste of their food. Those without a car dream of owning one, while those who have a car are always looking for a better one.”
The key to happiness is gratitude: truly seeing and appreciating what we already have, and understanding that somewhere, someone would give anything for what we take for granted.
A few observations regarding the exchange between Amb. @dannydanon and the UN’s @_VanessaFrazier:
- UN officials serve Member States- not the other way around.
- UN Officials’ role is not to silence, censor or curtail the right of Member States to challenge UN reports and decisions.
- If even open debate is discouraged at the UN, what does that say about the organization’s commitment to building bridges through dialogue as well as transparency and accountability?
- If the UN has confidence in its findings, it should welcome scrutiny and criticism rather than attempt to shut them down.
- Due process matters: allegations should be thoroughly verified before being treated as established facts. This should occur prior to submitting a report. If it hasn’t happened, retract the report. Apologize.
- Reports that are unverified, politically motivated or methodologically flawed undermine both the UN’s credibility and public trust in its work.
All in all, this is a(nother) very bad look for the UN.
You can't tie your peace deal to the behavior of other nations
Israel isn't going to let Hezbollah blow up its people so Americans can have cheaper gas — anymore than Ukraine is going to just surrender territory to Russia so Trump can have a Nobel Peace Prize
Have you seen the news about Israel attacking Egypt?
Me neither, because Egypt has not been attacking Israel.
100% of the countries that do not attack Israel are not attacked by Israel.
Disgusting behavior by senior UN official @_VanessaFrazier interrupting a member state after she had her opportunity to give her remarks. The fact that @UN officials would allow this shows how far the institution has fallen. There should be a reprimand and statement by @antonioguterres I won’t hold my breath.

still don’t understand what’s so special about Elon Musk’s money that his $1 trillion dollars would solve every problem on earth, but the $7 trillion dollars the US government spends annually hardly solves the problems in America
Faith Odhiambo is a proven defender of justice whose fearless stand for Gen Z and peaceful protestors showed the true meaning of leadership. Her decision to join the Linda Mwananchi movement is a monumental win for women’s leadership and our collective struggle for the ordinary citizen.
Her bid for Nairobi Woman Representative comes at the perfect time. Nairobians deserve an incorruptible voice, and Faith is exactly that.
Welcome to the movement, Faith.Together, we are going to deliver a just and accountable capital city!
You are so completely full of it.
Israel's military budget is $45B
We provide $3.8B in aid which is basically used to buy US weaponry so it benefits us as well.
Your irrational hatred of Israel is an embarassment.
The argument that the Iranian regime is going to now all of a sudden change its behavior — which is rooted in extremism and fanatic religious beliefs — is a fallacy.
A new survey by KNBS, CBK and FSD Kenya has laid bare something uncomfortable about our reality: for many Kenyan families, education is no longer a guaranteed right at home, it is a cost carried through sacrifice abroad.
School fees has emerged as the leading reason Kenyans in the diaspora send money back to the country. Let that sink in. Out of the KES 666.7 billion sent home in 2024, the largest share is not going into investment, expansion, or wealth creation, but into basic survival needs school fees, food, and healthcare.
This is what happens when a system shifts the burden of public services onto households instead of the state. Families are not just supporting livelihoods; they are outsourcing the failures of public education and healthcare systems.
The NSE is now up +16.61% YTD and the banking sector is up +22.39% YTD
Car & General leads the pack and remains undervalued trading at only 3.8x FY25 earnings.
We expect a re rating to at least 5x earnings which guided our target price of KES 152.50
CEO guided continued growth in FY26 and we model EPS to increase to KES 39 with DPS coming to KES 4.50
