It’s kinda reassuring most people seem to be on the same page that Sony’s style of games are out of vogue.
You can tell they were trying to tap into that 2017/18 hype, but that doesn’t work when everything today looks the same as it did back then, but much less exciting.
@FamDaBroski Wolverine and god of war about made me roll my eyes lol. PS studios has been making the same bullshit for like 8 years at this point
(Astro bot was incredible tho)
George Lucas and Mellody Hobson on the massive new architectural icon—housing their personal collection of art and artifacts—opening in September 2026 https://t.co/HxKfs7uWRl
@kambyyy Just finished replaying the remake a few days ago and it’s pretty incredible.
They could’ve easily been like half the industry and simply rereleased it in 4K but they got shit for going above and beyond lol. I remember something similar happening with horizon on ps5 too
The constant irony, cynicism, and empty pretension from the twitter riffraff has gotten so bad I’m one foot in the let people enjoy things boat
Totally guilty as well though lol
@kambyyy That’s not even counting the state of the art visuals that other MMOs don’t do for a reason. Aside from the expense, the memory + storage issues included is why they had to nuke half the game.
A D3 would largely benefit from a more MMO approach if they’re smart imo
@kambyyy D2 in a healthy state is probably the most popular “MMO” out there behind WoW. And XIV and WoW rake in profit. Real MMO content is cheaper to make by design. Cheaper scenario/lvl design, text boxes over voice acting, etc.
Destiny is just way too high prod for what it wants to be
I remember the day the first game’s concept art leaked, I’m glad I mostly stuck around til the end.
Despite all the turns they still managed to make something special.
If D3 ever happens I just hope Bungie takes a class in resource management.
The foundational work on Destiny from Chris Barrett, Joseph Staten, Jaime Griesemer, O’Donnel+Salvatori was fantastic, and often surpassed Halo.
It’s a miracle it ever worked, with how poorly most of them were treated, and how often their work was disregarded during development
