🗣️Thiago Silva: “Chelsea gave me what they said I would never have.”
People don’t understand my journey. At PSG, every time we failed in Europe, they mocked me. They said I would never win a European trophy. They joked that I’d retire without touching one.
I stayed silent. I kept working.
Then I joined Chelsea and they laughed even more.
“Retirement move.”
“Too old for the Premier League.”
“Finished player.”
But God doesn’t follow their script.
Chelsea believed in me when people didn’t. I came, I fought, and I gave everything again just like I always have. I helped build a new defence, and in the same competition they used to insult me with, I lifted the Champions League. Then the Super Cup. Then the Club World Cup.
Everything they said I would never win… I won when they thought I was done.
So yes, they laughed at me.
But today, I smile. because my story proved them wrong.
There is a stubborn old historical gossip narrated by Omwami Anami that still trembles me. It mentions July 5, 1969 the afternoon when Tom Joseph Mboya, the nation’s golden boy was silenced on Government Road (now Moi Avenue). It began like an ordinary Saturday and Mboya, ever the charmer, walked without his bodyguards. They say he had gone to buy deodorant.
But beneath that seemingly normal day, the state was sweating with paranoia. Mzee Kenyatta had suffered a stroke a year earlier. Power was dripping like honey, and everyone wanted a taste. The Kiambu Mafia, a collection of ministers who believed they had signed a lifelong lease on Kenya were busy drawing battle lines, while Charles Njonjo, the gentleman executioner in pinstripes, played chess with human lives.
They say the Special Branch had tapped Mboya’s phone line. There were no mobile phones then, only static, suspicion and spies with British accents. Somewhere in a smoky office had whispered, “He’s going to Channi Chemist.” And the bullet waited.
Mboya was “too bright for his own safety.” Even Francis Atwoli, remembered that when Mboya left home without guards, a police commissioner shouted at Pamella Mboya, “Your husband might not come back alive!” He didn’t.
Mboya’s death froze Nairobi, Businesses shut & People wept in whispers. At the hospital, legendary photographer Mohamed Amin clicked his camera as doctors fought hopelessly for a man whose mind had already outgrown his nation.
They arrested Nahashon Njenga, a former police officer. He was tried, convicted, and hanged very fast. But whispers began,, “Who was the big man he mentioned?”
Theories started, some said it was Njonjo. Others said it was “the system.” Kigano former mp later revealed a chilling story: Njonjo allegedly bragged to Kenyatta, “We have eliminated the boy who wanted your seat.” Kenyatta, upon hearing this, reportedly wept.
They buried Mboya in haste afraid his corpse might start a revolution. The requiem mass at Holy Family Basilica turned chaotic. Ministers were booed as Citizens spat fire. At the burial in Rusinga, few government men dared to show up. Masinde Muliro & JM Kariuki went. The rest stayed away. But Within six years, JM Kariuki himself vanished.
And for Njenga the main suspect, some said he was spotted in Lusaka after the hanging. Others swore he was quietly executed to shut him up. Kigano insists he was hanged hurriedly, secretly after confessing that he’d been promised Ksh100 for the job.
Tom Mboya’s death remains Kenya’s unfinished sentence. He dreamed of an industrial, united Kenya. If the Legend was still alive, today Kenya would have been the New Singapore, something that Kasongo aspires with his appetite for stealing, killing & grabbing public lands.

Gachagua never delivered the Kibaki Presidency in 2002.
He didn't deliver the Kibaki Presidency in 2007.
He didn't deliver the Uhuru Presidency in 2013.
Wamunyoro didn't deliver the Uhuru Presidency in 2017.
FACTS: Ruto gave Gachagua the DP post in 2022.
FACTS: Uhuru gave Rigathi MP for Mathira in 2017.
FACTS: Moi gave Riggy G a DO job.
So I don't understand which are these Presidencies Kachakwa keeps telling us how he delivered.
Rigathi Gachagua is just a busy body with a loud mouth who can't deliver any presidency.
