Members of Whitstable lifeboat crew have been presented with the Dave Foreman Trophy, awarded annually for the best rescue by Whitstable Lifeboat during a given year.
The trophy was awarded by Mrs Wendy Foreman for a rescue that took place on 14th January 2024.
Whitstable RNLI assist fishing boat and Kite Surfer last weekend. Friday saw the lifeboat launched at 2.10pm to assist a fishing vessel with gear box problems a mile off Reculver with 3 persons onboard. The lifeboat took the vessel under tow to Herne Bay harbour.

The lifeboat launched on Monday to investigate reports of a windsurfing board drifting off the coast. The crew also found themselves in a 'litter pick' as they found large items of debris and eventually the windsurfing board which were all brought onto the lifeboat.

The Whitstable RNLI lifeboat launched on Saturday afternoon to a 40-foot motor vessel broken down near the Kentish Flats Wind Farm.
The lifeboat found the vessel anchored and a crew member went onboard. The craft, its occupant and dog were then towed to Whitstable Harbour.
Three years of resistance. Three years of gratitude. Three years of absolute heroism of Ukrainians. I am proud of Ukraine! I thank everyone who defends and supports it. Everyone who works for Ukraine. And may the memory of all those who gave their lives for our state and people be eternal. 🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦
