Speed cameras are only profitable (which is what they’re all about) when speed limits are set below engineering criteria for any given roadway where they’re placed. Want to reduce speeds…change the road engineering, you’ll get both safety and compliance and be fair to drivers. The fraud is even more offensive with red light cameras. For-profit, automated enforcement is nothing but government sanctioned theft. And there’s zero safety benefit.
