What’s up MTV, I’m a digital artist who paints W101 fanart on the Nintendo switch, welcome to my crib || KingsIsle Extra Credits program affiliate || 🚫AI sucks
I’ll catch up on what I’ve done since I’ve been gone, but first, here’s what I finished last night for Extra Credits ! We’ve been promoting the upcoming world by drawing tarot cards, since that’ll be a big theme :] #wizard101#digitalart#digitalpainting#extracredits
@KingsIsle I know I sound harsh. I do actually wanna do this. But first I need to know that u guys will do better, cause I don’t allow AI in the same spaces as my art when it comes to stuff like this.
I'm not too worried about AI worming its way into the animation industry. The attitude and intention one needs to have to produce something with gen AI comes from desperation, apathy, and greed. Nothing produced by a gen AI will win awards, touch people, or be remembered fondly for generations like something produced by a human. It's made by and for people who just want a quick dopamine rush. Who just want to make a quick buck. There's nothing creative, nothing emotionally tangible in these works. Sure, the animation industry might in-part be taken over by this kind of technology in the future, but I don't see traditional means of producing art falling to the wayside.
Someone described this stuff as Funko Pop animation, and I fully agree. None of these AI animations will be special to anyone. It'll be mass-produced garbage without any meaning. This isn't going to take over the art industry. It's just going to speed up the production of hollow, meaningless, out of touch content. And I feel that people will always prefer the real stuff.
ATMOPINION: Today's announcement from Falmea is great to see - here are our thoughts.
1. The game needs large, persistent announcements in client - not everyone is on Discord
2. The QA team needs an internal audit - when every issue leads back to them, that's very concerning
