@DavidGriscom I hate to say it, but these "Let's listen to the voters" clips often leave me thinking not "We didn't listen" but "Gee, they really ARE that stupid." In 4 years (or 4 months) they'll see the results. My 66 years have been Dems making things right, GOP then screwing them up.
@una_10bananas Bluesky feels the most like pre-dumpster fire Twitter. It will just take time to build up the communities that we remember, but at least it isn't flooded with misinformation and propoganda.
I’ve had all that I can take of Elon, and expect to drop this site within the week. BlueSky feels more promising than Mastodon or Threads. If you’re already there, let me know your username. I really have a lot of folks here who I don’t want to lose forever, but…Musk.
@RufusBobcat Please consider BlueSky. Everyone at @ucmerced is way too cool to keep hanging around here. We're all moving--and I want to keep following!
@hecubian_devil You might just as well say the voters staying home because they were "turned off" by her stance might genuinely wind up costing them Gaza.
I did join BlueSky this morning. Hoping it will do better than the earlier Twitter replacements seem to have done. We'll see. If you want to join me there, my username is the same as here. And most other places... steveclark414
@douglasritz@krassenstein Douglas, thank you. I'm going to be smiling about your responses all day. I'm going to share your rapier wit with friends. It's still largely true: Laughter is the best medicine.
Rep Lauren Boebert (R-CO) has returned to Congress with a laser-like focus on the issue Coloradans sent her there to solve: underwater space aliens. #copolitics
@CalltoActivism I have no idea how to determine whether news that The Onion bought up Infowars is accurate. I hope so, but...Can we really be sure this wasn't a headline in The Onion?
@KatieG_@Newsweek The part where he reached the mid-level management level of major in one branch of the military or the part where he worked to exonerate war criminals? Which part of that do you think qualifies him to run one of the largest, most diverse and complex institutions in the world?
