@WestMidsRailway There's a woman wheelchair user stuck at University station unable to get out as the accessible station exits are locked and no staff. She needs help NOW.
@ZavrsnikAna@EurostarUK I'm a real fan of the underwater train and often use it. A Eurostar employee who happened to be sitting opposite me took the photo was was very happy to play along.
@BhamSwifts ahoy! The hot ticket is back in town. The @bvharriers Bournville Leafy 10K is open for entries. We know you love the annual dash around the leafy Oasis (the other one!) of Bournville B30. Make it Definitely not Maybe! https://t.co/VSk0Jv5Tix
@RailwayGreat Shout out to your conductor guard on the 17.28 Weymouth to Bristol just now. Train was v busy, then a lengthy delay at Westbury leaving many incl me worried about connections. She stayed calm, friendly, helpful under a lot of pressure. Well done her. Did you proud.
You own a water company….
You enjoy a monopoly market
You sell something people require for survival
You don’t spend profits building or repairing your infrastructure
You give billions to shareholders
You pollute our waters
…you then expect the bill-payer to bail you out.
Spring has sprung…& so has the April edition of @MoseleyB13Mag! The issue contains cover star & nocturne artist Robert Geoghegan; Moseleyite @stevedoswell on his new book about running in 28 (as it was) EU countries; The Heath Bookshop Literature & Music Festival…& much more!🌼

How is #AI changing the language profession and industry? Today CIOL launches AI Voices – a white paper on AI in #translation and #language services that explores and explains the risks, opportunities, and challenges of artificial intelligence (AI) for anyone involved with languages and professional translation.
AI is transforming the context for translation and language services, with new #tools and #technologies that can both create and improve content – but which also contain biases and can make significant and serious mistakes.
Whether you are a #linguist, a #translator or you are simply interested in how AI is affecting translation, download the CIOL AI Voices white paper here:

Strategy Day today at CIOL, bringing together members of our Council, Boards and Committees, online and in the room from the UK, Europe and beyond.
Great to have the energy, ideas and expertise of such terrific people in support of languages and linguists worldwide.
@oliviahellewell@begusgasper I know exactly what you mean. So much junk and bile, but once in a while a thread or a post that brings insight, humour or joy (sometimes all three together).
If you think foreign languages are a bit of tongue twister, you're right! 'She sells seashells...' has many brothers and sisters in other languages. Happy European Languages Day @CIOL_Linguists@CIOLMidlands and language lovers and practitioners everywhere!

@DulwichHistory Chez Nico was a culinary outlier in SE22 in the early 70s, when the local steak house was about as fancy as it got. Since those days the social profile and level of affluence has been transformed and a latter-day Chez Nico would be unexceptional. Back then it really stood out.
@DulwichHistory I remember when Chez Nico first opened. My parents + friends went there. They enjoyed the meal but one of the friends was startled to be told off by Nico for smoking a pipe. These were the days when smoking everywhere was normal. They left in no doubt that Nico ruled the roost.
