@BillAckman I believe a significant portion of the USTA’s annual revenue comes from the U.S. Open. They lease the facility for just $1, so yes, the tournament generates substantial profits—but those profits are reinvested into promoting, growing, and developing tennis throughout the USA.
@ToddScoullar I actually think she played well given the situation and what was at stake. Tennis is a very hard sport mentally specially since you are on your own. But I agree - cold handshake and no press is not great for her nor the sport.
@optionscjp Because that house was probably worth $1.2mm 6 years ago…. And could be worth $4 in another 6 years. Hard to imagine it could get more expensive but also hard to imagine a better place to live.
@KevinBuffalo@JPegula Yes I but I have even more respect for the athletes that come from zero money and with pure perseverance and will climb to the top of the ladder. That’s much harder to me.
