Congratulations Senator Hon. @DrOburu_O on your confirmation as Party Leader of the ODM alongside other party officials at the Special Delegates Convention (SDC) today. I thank you and the Party National Chairperson, Her Excellency Governor @gladyswanga for inviting me to the SDC as a founder and 2nd Secretary General of the ODM.
Godspeed as you lead the great ODM Party in the next face of its evolution. Strong parties are the foundation for a vibrant constitutional democracy. May ODM grow from strength to strength and continue defending the very best interests of the people of Kenya, inspired by the party’s social democracy founding ideals.

Kwani hiyo Mkutano ya Former President Uhuru Kenyatta imeisha haraka aje huko Kitengela,Why is Uhuru so determined to sabotage the ODM Party using weakling individuals like the Former ODM SG Edwin Sifuna ? The Focus is at Tononoka Grounds where the real ODM Party team is.. 😅✌️
Raila Odinga was a true champion of democracy. A child of independence, he endured decades of struggle and sacrifice for the broader cause of freedom and self-governance in Kenya. Time and again, I personally saw him put the interests of his country ahead of his own ambitions. Like few other leaders anywhere, he was willing to choose the path of peaceful reconciliation without compromising his core values. Through his life, Raila Odinga set an example not just for Kenyans, but across Africa and around the world. I know he will be missed. Michelle and I send our deepest condolences to his family and to the people of Kenya.
I am grateful for the warm reception I have received from my brother H.E President Cyril Ramaphosa @CyrilRamaphosa when I met him in Pretoria, South Africa today.
We have discussed my vision for the continent, and I got an opportunity to outline my plan for the African Union Commission (AUC) anchored on 10 priority areas.
Mama Ida and I are at Migwena Grounds for the 4th Piny Luo cultural festival. Luos from across Africa and the diaspora have gathered here in Siaya, at the foot of Got Ramogi—the revered shrine of the Kenyan Luo—to reflect on “the state of the Luo nation” in the spirit of unity in diversity.
Luo delegations, led by their respective “Kers” (cultural leaders), have converged from Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, South Sudan, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and other nations.
We are also joined by non-Luo participants, who have come to celebrate alongside Luos, embracing unity and shared heritage that transcends national borders.
HAPPY NEW YEAR 2025
The year that has just ended has been tough and dramatic. But it has also showcased our capacity to withstand existential problems and pull back from the brink as a nation. The year 2024 showcased our staying power and determination to preserve our oneness as a people, no matter the magnitude of the challenges. However, many of the challenges of 2024 are crossing with us into 2025. It is going to be upon us, as Kenyans, to decide whether to carry on, divided, bitter and cursing into 2026, or to find a way of coming to the table, discussing our problems jointly and agreeing on a mutual solution that secures our country and provides a template for our beloved continent of Africa. The choice is entirely ours.
Wishing a happy new year 2025 to all Kenyans.

It is now clear that Cyril Ramaphosa will have to pick either Julius Malema (EFF), Jacob Zuma (MK), or John Steenhuisen (DA) as his deputy president. There is no way out. No other option!
